@mfresa it is a smoother rustication most of the rusticated pipe I have made and own there is no grain pattern in them but in the light you can still make out the pattern in this one. I thought it turned out quite well.
My Brother started taking a woodworking class, so I gave him one of the "blank" pipes from P&C and told him to have fun. he made one from olive wood first then the "Blank" one. Very unique.
@Corey562, I saw one of those on Ebay today, they wanted thousands for it. I thought "Really??" but hey, there are some rich pipe smokers out there evidently... Yours is very nice indeed.
@Corey562, very pretty, did you use the black stain on it or some other color? I bought a small variable speed grinder and put a polishing wheel on it. The difference in gloss levels is amazing! Makes me want to make another one.
Haven't been to this page in a while and can't believe all the beautiful pipes I would have missed. Great work guys. With talent like that I can't imagine you'd ever go out and buy a pipe when you can make something more unique in your workshop.
@mfresa no black on that one just a bit of first press olive oil and a dark brown after the final buff and wax she should shine like glass. This is the next one on the table.
@mfresa thanks finished it this morning about 3:30 and it sold today along with this one. Hope he will enjoy smoking them as much as I enjoyed making them.
@Corey562 you have a knack for getting the grain to look like a million bucks. I'm not a bamboo guy, but the craftsmanship is outstanding! Just ordered a block from amsmokes yesterday. Should get something this week.
