@Corey562 Talk about a handy pipe to have, that's it! Most people only go for th 6" or longer. They miss out on the convenience of a pipe that size. Not to mention how easy they are to tuck away in smaller vest pockets, etc.
@Corey562 That is really o,e good looking pipe! I love how you set it off with the rustication. I can see people getting floored when that guy gets pulled out of a pocket! Really nice... Really nice... Another winner...
@Kmhartle I will sell all of them if offered the right amount but if I make one that has a cosmetic flaw you know nothing that will compromise the smoking ability of the pipe or if I feel it is not up to par I may keep it or sometimes if someone really wants it I will just price it accordingly. I love making pipes and seeing the joy it brings to other when the get a new one I would love to keep them all but I just tell myself I can always make more.
Very cool @Corey562 I love the swirl effect. It almost gives the pipe a feeling of being in motion. Are you planning on a solid stain, or staining g to highlight the reliefed areas?...
@KA9FFJ probably gonna stain with a darker on the raised areas and a tad lighter on the rest wont really know till I see how the black highlights the grain.
Yeah, that makes sense @Corey562. No worries on your part. It's such a great looking pipe, you'll be hardpressed to botch it up... Another winner in the making...
So we're definitely looking at a 2-tone staining. Once you sand the black down and, hopefully, the grain really pops, what color are you thinking you MIGHT go with?
Well I am self taught and have only been making them about 2 years I guess. I got most of my knowledge on pipe making and makers from a good friend who is a large collector. @Jdk5hh
