I love this pipe! I've seen it a couple of times now on this forum. You do great work. You've mentioned it before but I'm having trouble finding the reference to where people could buy your stuff.
@jfreedy that one is not posted any where for sale but here is a link to where all my pipes are.https://www.facebook.com/Abbspipes/ this one is a face book page and there are some on ebay. But most of them will be on the fb page.
@Corey562, I like that pipe a lot. And I like both straight and bent pipes. However, the thing I love most about the one I was referencing is the assemetrical bowl. I love it.
@Corey562 I can already see your "progress" pipe as a finished project and I love the style/shape of this pipe. I"'ll fall asleep tonight dreaming about it... What a pipe!
@Corey562 I love it! It's going to be beautiful! Looks as if at least the picture-side of the pipe is going to have some nice grain to it. I might have to break down and buy one of your pipes. I haven't bought a new pipe in 18 years (all restorations). Maybe the time is now... Beautiful... Just beautiful...
@Corey562 Good to hear the air hole drilling was a success. You do know shape-wise you're very close to an Oom-Paul? I love this pipe!... What grit do you finalize with before staining? And what grit do you finalize with before waxing/buffing?
@KA9FFJ I will usually start staining with a base coat after 500 and work it off with 1000 as for buffing before I put it on a wheel I will go as high as 8000 to 12000 grit the I hit it with the white diamond buffing compound then wax.
@Corey562 As I expected, it looks fantastic. If your like me, your at the stage where it can't go fast enough... Thanks for the info on grits, etc. You can't see me, but I haven"t stopped grinning since your last pic...
@KA9FFJ thank you delivery came in today already pick out another block to make another one when I get this one finished got some new stem material in as well.
@Corey562 What's scary is your pipe turned out almost exactly as I envisioned in in the early stages. With the cantered/slanted bowl it's perfect for a "hanger". I know because I am one. Beautiful job... Just beautiful!
