@ghostsofpompeii - I have never heard of the coffee ground treatment. I have done a salt treatment on several pipes. You are right as rain. Ole79 will ghost a pipe right proper. @jfreedy - If you like Mixture 79 try Sutliff Great Outdoors. It is another anisette aromatic, but without the floral effect. Really a much better smoke if you like the taste of liquorish. (licorice)
@OlePops Just a sidenote concerning Great Outdoors. I did a 50/50 with BCA (probably any black Cavendish will do), and it transformed the experience to a more positive note (no pun intended)... IMHO...
@OlePops@mfresa@KA9FFJ and @jfreedy Thanks for the advice. I do enjoy the flavor of anise and licorice, so if there is a blend out there with either of those flavors that doesn't have the floral notes then they are worth trying.
As a person who suffers permanently from Allergic Rhinitis (allergy-induced post-nasal drip, basically) there have been vast amounts of the past years' during which I did not get to smell nice things very much.
Fortunately, I do not have the very, very bad sense of smell my wife has lived with forever. A doctor once pronounced that she couldn't be counted on to smell a gas leak despite that horrible tracer-stench they put in the stuff.
@RockyMountainBriar I'm a big fan of Turkish Delight, even traded my sister for some to a really nice lady in some wardrobe world. Long story, it could fill a novel. Sounds like I'll enjoy Grousemoor, then.
@Kmhartle@jfreedy I'm surprised to hear you didn't care for Epiphany, Jfreedy, then again, we all have our own tastes. I picked some up due to the Revelations connection, and I think it's pretty good. Kmhartle, I'd say try an ounce of it and see what you think of it. It's not a blow you out of the water English, but it's nice for what it is.
Sounds like I might have to add Mixture 79 on my next order. I'll just be sure to keep it to my smaller cobs until I get a good idea of what it's like.
Whatever he is smoking, it does look rough. He is one dirty old man. I saw somewhere on the net that he finally took a bath after a bazillion years…or first time ever…..and then died soon after.
@Londy3 I’m was with you on the 1-Q when I first tried it back when I first started the tobak pipe. I still have that jar which is about 10 years old now. I tried it again a few months ago, and it was much better….or my tastes have changed🤔

Autumn evening
I absolutely hated both and gave them away.
