@ PappyJoe; Those are excellent selections. I pray that they don't get implemented any time soon. I also hope that the "New Orleans Jazz Funeral Tradition is never lost."
@opipeman The Jazz funerals are one of the good traditions in the New Orleans culture and they are even more impressive live than they are in videos.
My last duty station was at the Federal Building in downtown New Orleans. I had one guy - first time being in New Orleans - who swore up and down that Jazz Funerals was something that only happened on TV and in movies. Then he experienced one when he was in the French Quarter and he had to wait for 30 minutes to cross the street.
63. Be aware, if it hasn’t already happened, you will
be betrayed by a friend. Anyone that is not your friend can not betray you
because they do not have your trust. When it happens, forgive the betrayer and
move on.
@opipeman Or be true to my Cancer sign of the Zodiac and murder them in their sleep. Just kidding, just kidding, but really, don’t piss off a Cancer. They are very nice, helpful, sympathetic 99.9% of the time. They trust very few. Cross them, and it might trip an invisible switch that turns quickly to a darkness you don’t want to see, let alone be a part of🫣
I guess I'm becoming a grumpy old man. I am more disgusted day by day at this world and in turn, I give a shit less and less about anything. This is a world of continual bullshit.
I’m in Montana, you know where the missile silos are…I may not have anything to worry about, by the sounds of things, at “ground zero”. There won’t be a hole deep enough.💥🔥☠️ I guess it would be better than agonizing for weeks/days/months with radiation poisoning. I think I went through this back in grade school, but I don’t have a desk to hide under😳
@Londy3; I can't change the world of Bull Shit, but I get by with a good pipe and some good Tobac and a little taste of the Irish every evening after supper. Life is good in spite of it all.
66. I have enjoyed smoking a Tobacco Pipe since I was
about 21 years old. I found it relaxes me and allows me to focus on me
thoughts. There have been a lot of great men in history that were pipe smokers.
If I had more time, I’d tell you who they were.
67. There is a time to be tough and a time to be soft,
a time to love and a time to hate, a time to rejoice and a time to mourn. By
the time you’re a grumpy old man you should have it all figured out.

Those are excellent.
57. Be your own man.

That's the way funerals should be done. A true celebration of a life well lived.
58. Try to find humor in all situations; life is a blessing and way too short to face with a negative attitude.
59. Avoid buying food from anyone with facial piercings.
60. If someone takes you into their confidence, take it to your grave.
The best way to keep a secret? Keep it to yourself. Second best? Tell one other person - if you must. There is no third best.
61. Search for more and more of less and less.
Except for pipes and tobaccos...
I knew one or more of my Brothers would contest that rule.
62. Never follow directions given by a female, without checking a map.

Change my mind.

64. Even though funerals are sad, they have advantages over weddings. The food is better and you don’t have to buy a gift.

"To everything turn, turn, turn"
I think it was by the Byrds.
Yeah, the Byrds and the Book of Ecclesiastes 3:1-8
