RULES FOR GRUMPY OLD MEN TO LIVE BY
I few years ago I started this list and I thought I would share it with my brothers on TPL.
I'll post one rule a day until I've listed them all. I hope you will add some as well.
#1. Never pass up an opportunity to use the restroom.

Since my granddaughters have gotten bigger I don't go to the park as much. Also, they prohibit pipe smoking, so my tax money ain't doing me much good.
Good idea, since the dog died. Only problem is #49. You'll understand when I get there.
I haven't found that person as yet.
@Zouave1864;
Good question.
3. Never pass up a chance to make love to the one you love.
There are a lot more to come.
4. Don’t be afraid to take a nap.
Good sub point.
5. Always catch and release.
I do it for a number of reasons;
1- As a fly fisherman, the whole point of fishing for me is the catch.
2- I hate to clean fish.
3- My Bride hates to cook fish. She doesn't like the way it stinks up the kitchen. She brings out the perfumed candles
to mask the smell. They make me half sick.
4- We have lots of ponds, lakes and rivers in Iowa, and I've always wondered about agricultural runoff. Lawn chemicals are also a concern for me.
Well said!
6. Never kill anything that you don’t plan to eat or that really pisses you off.
I understand your concerns about chemical run-off contaminating fish. That's why it is important to pay attention to alerts from the Fish & Wildlife and Health Departments about what fish are safe to eat and how often you should eat it.
When I was running my fishing magazine, I would occasionally mention the alerts and the fact that it was better to release the bigger, older fish and only keep the ones just over the size limit for eating. A fish biologist once explained that the pollutants build up in the older fish as they continue to swim in the polluted water. The younger the fish, the less pollutants. At least that was a theory.
You write: <<People are ok to kil [sic] if they are .... politicians.>>
Are you really comfortable posting that in a public forum?
I wouldn't be.
Any perception of "anonymity" is illusory.
Use discretion, my brother.
Kill politicians was a joke, of course not but remember that politicians are like baby diapers, need be changed very often and for the same reasons.
We agree. Money + Power draws flies sooner or later.
If everything pisses you off, you ain't smoking your pipe enough.
I don't get alerts and even if I did, the health dept. and our fish & game are staffed by bureaucrats. Sooo, my trust level is low.
Only and always in self defense.
