Question for the group. I have a fellow pipe smoking friend (and podcasting partner) that would like to join in our chats. He's Canadian, so he's unable to join the forums and participate, otherwise he'd already be on here. Would anyone object to me sending him the link to join in?
@jfreedy Once you can venture out, I recommend you take the jar with you. Sometimes the O-ring is the perfect solution, but that will depend on how much play there is between the lid and the jar. If it is already close, an O-ring will actually prevent the lid from closing. That's when you'll need to buy a flat washer type ring instead. Only by trying it out with the jar will you know for sure...
I have mentioned this somewhere before, but I found replacement flat washer seals for a few of my old tobacco jars in the plumbing department at ACE Hardware. Specifically gaskets for toilet tanks. They also have a canning/jar section where I found some silicone jar seals of different sizes.
Great meeting tonight. Really enjoyed all the stories. Speaking of stories... here's a good description of Jefferson Davis's meerschaum pipe which is currently at Ft. Monroe. Good read.
Nice time tonight. Like I've said, next best thing to a physical pipe club meeting. Missed a few guys tonight, but picked up a couple of "newbies". Had a great time.
Great News! Brian Levine, host of Pipes Magazine Radio podcast and industry expert will be presenting THIS FRIDAY. He's presenting on his Disney Pipe collection and will be available for questions and general discussion. Can't wait to smoke a bowl with such an industry icon. Feel free to invite others as well.
@jfreedy Nice work my friend! I saw Brian in person at the 2018 show, but was a bit shy to join in the conversation. I'm excited to chat with him about Disney pipes, as well as the current state of the company (and pipes, too!).
Missed you both @motie2 and @pipeman83 . Hope to see you there this Friday!
Tomorrow night’s meeting with Brian Levine is going to be so much fun. We may also have an additional special guest joining us tomorrow, but I can’t say who. Feel free to invite your friends as well.
