This evenings club meeting was very successful. Sorry to hear some could not get in. Is it possible to have another test prior to next Friday reserved for only those who had trouble? This would allow them to test setting and logins.
@Danfriedman - that’s a good idea. I think there was confusion on which code/site to enter. I listed the latest one (the one that we used last night) several times prior to the meeting, but some were still using old ones. In a perfect world we would have just one URL that never changed. However, they do expire over time with Google Meet.
How about this Tuesday evening at 7:30 CDT we try a test run for those who had trouble? I will post the login information (on this thread) the day of.
@mfresa - not as bad as the test run night, but some still did. I think that probably has more to do with your internet connection than anything on Google Meet.
@mfresa The only problem I had was the initial connection. About 5 or 6 times, every time I would "knock", it would time out. I just kept trying and finally, for no apparent reason, it connected then all was ok... I guess persistence won out...
Tonight's "check out the technology" meeting will be using Zoom instead of Google Meet. (Friday evening is our actual TPL Pipe Club meeting.) Tonight will still be at 7:30 CDT. If you've not used Zoom you'll be prompted to download a small app (easy and painless). Here's the URL and meeting code.
