TPL Virtual Pipe Club

With the Coronavirus pandemic in full swing and with everyone engaging in social distancing I think it’s the perfect time to create the TPL Virtual Pipe Club. Think about it... sharing a bowl with @PappyJoe and @motie2 and @ghostsofpompeii all at the same time! We could use FaceTime, Skype, Zoom or something similar. It would be a great way for us to stay connected with other humans while we’re locked down at home. What do you think? Maybe a weekly thing? We could pick a day/time each week and whoever could make it jump on and join in. Thoughts?

@KA9FFJ - OF COURSE you’re invited! Everybody on TPL is. I just listed a few members that have been active for several years & are easily recognizable. I’m researching different technologies now. 

Zoom and Google Hangouts are ones I’m currently looking into. Any others I should explore?

Skype has some decent free facetime technology if i may throw that in the hat of suggestions.

@jfreedy I just tested your Google Hangouts Meeting link above.  It couldn't be easier to use.  Guess I just missed you.  I would definitely like to join in.  I propose Friday nights. I'm gonna go stir crazy if I can't visit my B&M or pub as I always do.  I'm in the Eastern time zone.

@jim102864 - I like having a set day/time each week. I think I’m going to try out a test run tonight to make sure everything works alright. 

I’m fine with Friday evenings. Anyone else have another night they’d prefer?

I logged in late but I’ll try again Friday. Most of my video pipe chatting was on google hangout where the roster was posted and you just joined the hangout if there was space. You did not have to ask to be invited in.

@daveinlax - this is Google Meet (kinda the business upgrade to Hangouts). So that's probably why it's different. If I'm online I will always approve whoever "knocks at the door."  Hopefully, we'll see you tomorrow evening.
