Sister's funeral today. It was a celebration of her life and the positive impact she had on countless people while here. It was very uplifting and many good memories were shared. I'll miss her, but at my age, only for a short while... Thank you all for sympathies and condolences...
@KA9FFJ; The good memories will sustain you. I for one hope it will be a long time before you join her. This country needs all the good men it can get.
Right now I can't move too far from the house, but I hope to be able to attend the next New York Pipe show and the next smoking contest in December if it's on. There's a local pipe smokers monthly gathering that I've been looking to attend as well.
I briefly chatted with Motie2 on one of the other pipe forums. He hadn't been real active recently. He said he prefer I not post about his current problems.
That being said, Motie2 is in need of prayers for those who remember him fondly.
Just a quick update: Finally got home yesterday afternoon from an 11 day stay at the local VA hospital. Seems an old wound over 50 years ago caused adhesions to band around my small intestine near the stomach that required an operation to remove them and straighten the intestine. This resulted in an incision from my breastbone to about 1 inch past my navel. Bottom line: It's been successfully repaired, I'm sore, weak and tired. But I'm fighting back, so I do see some normalcy in my near future...
@KA9FFJ Sorry to hear about this procedure. Praise God that all was successful! Very pleased to learn you are making a full recovery! I pray for healing quickly and painless for you.
@KA9FFJ; Sounds like the VA took good care of you. I suspect God was in the operating room as well. I believe there is a special place in God's heart for Marines. Heal up Brother, you have pipes to smoke.
What our valued Brother @KA9FFJ has gone through is a reminder of just how fragile life is. Live life accordingly. Cherish those you love and be thankful for every day you are granted.

Singing in the shower can also lead to people knocking on the door asking if you are in pain.
"May God bless you at Easter,
and keep you all year through.
May God give you all the faith you need,
to make your dreams come true.
May His love and wisdom always help,
to guide you on your way.
May His light shine down upon you now,
to bless your Easter Day."

Glad to hear you are still kick’in.
Ouch! I see the surgeon went around your belly button.
