You must have been around when Jesus was knee high to a life ring to know some of those sayings.
What I hate are the words that we can no longer use because the meanings have been changed.

Re: What are you Drinking while smoking your pipe today?
Was wasting time listening to this drunk on youtube make 8 different drinks in memory of Jimmy Buffett.
He started talking about how the Painkiller was patented by Pusser Rum and no one could make the drink without Pusser Rum and call it a Painkiller. My first thought was how much did they pay the official to actually patent or copyright a freaking drink.
Anyway, I opened the refrigerator and had all the ingredients except Pusser Rum. So I made a Not a Painkiller using a barrel aged rum distilled in New Orleans.
It is sort of like a pina colada except not frozen and not as sweet and creamy.
I paired it with a bowl of Rattray's Caribbean Dream.

Re: What's for Dinner? (Pairing pipe, drinks & dinner)
If that KFC add is from around 1970-1975, that $5.20 21 piece bucket (adjusted for US inflation) would be 1970/$31.91 or 1975/$29.68 today. I don’t see a 21 piece bucket, only a 16 piece on the menu, here in Billings, it is ~$38.00. So. another 25%+ higher for 4-5 pieces would make a 21 piece bucket about $50.00.
Damn, chicken is expensive these days.

Re: Pipe refinishing
I will add a caveat to my previous fyi.
I used it on pipes that were already buffed with Carnauba on a wheel. Used just as “spiff up” after a smoke.

Re: What's for Dinner? (Pairing pipe, drinks & dinner)
Speaking of dinner, I can’t wait to use my “Kirsten” as in Kirsten Pipe Company corn cob holders. I have a couple more pairs on the way. I need to buff and polish the ones in the ziplock. I used my buffing wheel on the other two, and it got most of the oxidation, but I need something that can get into the grooves better. I have the same issue with some of my old Kirsten pipes I have refurbished. I think the previous owner might have washed them in a dishwasher? Dishwashers mess up aluminum a bit, the ‘forks’ are stainless steel. I was thinking of making a similar tamper to the one for sale on EBay by “Kroozer” (repurposed from these cob holders), but I think I will use them for corn as they were intended.
Re: What are you guys smoking right Now?
Smoking some C&D “Espresso” in a Pete “Sports” 7. It was an unsmoked pipe when I bought it, cheap. The tenon was broken off and missing. This is one of the first pipes, if not the first, I replaced a tenon on. It was before I had a lathe.
Re: The World We Live In
My dad always use to say that I didn’t know shit from Shinola….now I do. This was in my Uncle Jim’s stuff that I inherited (my Uncle Jim was my dad’s twin). My dad passed in ‘1989’, my Uncle in ‘2004’.

The looks fantastic! I haven't made meade in ages, I used to use an orange and cinnamon recipe that included 20 raisins for the tannins to help the fermentation.

@RockyMountainBriar
I like it.
The first bowl I had gave me the impression of mocha coffee I occasional make during the winter months (making hot cocoa with coffee instead of milk or hot water). Since then I get more of a coffee with cream flavor.

@RockyMountainBriar As you know though, things don't ever get better unless you make the management aware of the problem. They need to know that we as consumers expect better.
In addition, while you may not get you limited edition pipe, would you say no to a $250 - $500........ voucher.
I wouldn't, but I do get your point and at the end of the day we all have to follow our own path.
