Re: New to the forum? Introduce yourself!
Hey @ThatguyKI
Welcome to the nuthouse buddy.
It's great to have you join our pipe community. Feel free to jump right in. There are a lot of great folks here and good community! I think you will enjoy this pipe life. We shall go pipe shopping soon! You definitely need to get a Savinelli once you decide you dig the pipe scene. I look forward to planning our next gathering early Dec. I will shoot you an email on here with the other guys.

great day everyone! ! ! I’m Thatguy KI!!! New to the group and the pipe community. Haven’t even purchased my first pipe yet, but I met a great group of guys through my brother Londy who is a member here, and jumped at the opportunity to be apart.

Re: Defensive and Everyday Carry
Ok TPL brothers, I was gifted this new “Sharp & Pointy” Kershaw Livewire OTF auto (new model with Magnacut steel) by my friend that now lives in Tennessee. He also custom laser engraved it for me. He has a fairly powerful laser engraver🙂. I have decided to retire my tank of an EDC I have carried nearly every day since it was new for the last 25 years. I even carried it on my most recent plane ride…which happened to be a return trip from previously mentioned friends home. It’s been many years since I have been on a plane😉. My retiring EDC is a Benchmade Elishewitz Sentinel. The blade use to be solid black, and it has been sharpened so many times, the point has migrated up and back. The blade use to be about 1/4” longer, it’s still a great knife, but it’s not an auto.
I blocked out the serial number on the Kershaw, hence the “black blob” on the blade near the “ejection port”.

Re: Pipes & Cigars

Re: Pipe refinishing
@Whoispra
I find that sanding to 600 grit works pretty good for an everyday pipe, as long as I follow it up on the buffing wheel. I have some green buffing compound that is pretty coarse for buffing compound. I can use it to remove the “extra” black stain on a contrast stain bowl, it leaves the bowl pretty smooth. After the second color, I go through the brown, red, white compound then carnauba wax and polish. The pipes end up nice and shiny for everyday use.
