Re: Peterson Pipes
@RockyMountainBriar its also more annoying since they only made a few hundred of each finish. They should have caught it.

Re: Peterson Pipes
@RockyMountainBriar I just checked, that's exactly what they did. I think I'll try the heat gun trick. It's annoying it shouldn't have left the factory like that. Otherwise its a nice little pipe. The sandblasting looks good.

Re: Pipe refinishing
@KA9FFJ that's a beautiful GBD. Nice work. They are great smokers.

Re: What are you guys smoking right Now?
Re: Pipe refinishing
GBD Rockroot 508 already internally cleaned, Murphy's cleaned the stummel, and preliminary cleaning of the stem.

Re: Pipe refinishing
Long story short, I filled the pits.
After a good internal cleaning, I cleaned the outside of the stummel with Murphy's and a tooth brush being careful not to get any in the bowl.
Just about ready for stem polishing and staining:

Re: Pipe refinishing
I have a Yorkshire meer lined stummel... no stem.
So I found a suitable stem, fitted the tenon and did an internal cleaning of the stummel and contouring of the stem:

Re: How many pipes in your collection?
April 2017? Wow, how things have changed. In 2017, I resumed pipe smoking after a several year hiatus.
Today, 16 E.A. Carey pipes, the one Duncan Hill Aerosphere, and two cobs.
