@RockyMountainBriar ... I just went to visit my ma for here 84th a few weeks ago . who ever thought we'd be old enough to visit our mothers at 84 , right ?! Time Flys
@KA9FFJ ... Oh , its a yellow handle made of plastic or whatever its called with carbon steel . Its their largest stockman pattern and I like it a lot . I haven't used it a lot because its not one I take to work so Im sure it will last well beyond me .
Theres three things in life i really dig , other than the opposite sex ... Pipes , guitars and knives
Owl Farm is a portion of every aromatic blend I’ve smoked since 2017. Soon a portion of my currently dwindling jars of Cult BRM, Blue Danube, and Bridges Blend will enter the mix.
@motie2 Nice looking pipe, glad to see it finally out and about👍🏻
@Ruffinogold It’s hard to beat a good black Cavendish.
I have an old, little, no-name, “French Briar” cued up for this evening's smoke. It has a cool ruby Redmanol stem and screw-in bone tenon. It’s loaded with some C&D “The Beast” from 2023. Mmm, tasty. I’m still surprised that this blend is 51% Perique. I wish I could find a supply of Ruby Redmanol or Acrylic rod for some stems. I really love the crystal clear red of these old stems. Red happens to be my favorite color, especially this hue. It’s tough to see the color in this picture though.
I'm going to be hit and miss for a while here on the blog. Bought a new house (downsizing) and closing at the end of this month. So between prepping for the move, getting my old house in order to show and actually moving in to the "new" house, I'm going to be too preoccupied to give as much attention to TPL as I normally do. So with my periodic absence, remember, "the rumors of my death are greatly exaggerated".😏 Meanwhile, I'm doing some LL-7 in a restemmed and reworked Tom Spano...
@Ruffinogold Yep, time flies. I went to dinner with one of my childhood friends and his family (wife and son) last night. We have been friends for 55 years now and still hang out, fishing, camping, hunting, etc., frequently.
@KA9FFJ I believe the yellow handle material on @Ruffinogold's Case folding knife is Delrin. I have a Case with that handle in the Mini Copperlock pattern.
Smoking some Wilke “Vanilla Black Cavendish” in a Tilshead Hand Made this evening. I have a mix of Stillhouse Spiced Cherry Whiskey and Montana Whiskey Company Bourbon, on the rocks, to pair.
I have a couple of my little Pete’s out today. I have loaded my Natural Belgique with some SG “Black XX” from 2017. I have to be careful with this stuff, I only smoke it in small pipes, it is quite a load of “Vitamin-N”. One does not “freight train” this stuff. The rope was “shag cut” with my antique brass tube rope cutter. I let it dry for a few minutes before packing, which both help immensely with keeping it lit👍🏻 This tobacco always burns to a nice gray ash. Good Stuff!
I loaded one of my little Pete Calabash’s with some “Cannon Plug”, cut with one of my antique plug cutters, flake rubbed out, dried and stuffed. I have a hot mug of java to pair.

Trust me, I'm never doing this again!😬

Frankenblend in my 'ole blue...
Note the cleaned off work bench? Little by little the packing is being done.
A nice pipe is better than a nightmare🙂
