@Michael308; Been there, Brother. I haven't dipped in close to 15 years. If I'm around someone that has opened a tin and catch a whiff, the old craving starts. It elevates me Blood Pressure and I just have to resist. God help me, I really miss it, to this very day.
Doing some Cornell and Diehl JOSN in a MM cob. I lost the little sticker on the bottom of the jar, but I think it has 4+ years of aging. Anyway, it's mellowed quite nicely...
I have some Holger Danske “Original Orange” loaded in my Rattray’s Chubby Jacky Natural with Horn for this evenings “festivities”. I have it paired with some Ethiopian Light Roast coffee.
@opipeman In 1983 I was working in Seattle manufacturing specialized hoists (very large) that are used on sea based oil platforms, and the guy working nearest me in the facility, Pete, a veritable mountain of a man dipped Copenhagen.
What was unusual about Pete was he only got 2 dips out of a tin. He would literally start shaking after 5 to 10 minutes; I asked him one afternoon, why so much, he answered "I like the buzz", I'd guess he didn't make it to 50.
He offered and I tried a couple of times, holly crap it was strong, but I could not stand it getting in my teeth.
I prefer Red Man but only chewed when I was hunting.
A little late to post, but last night was my brother’s annual Christmas Party. There were about 40-50 attendees. This is a picture of the one smokefest of the evening, cigars and odd man out (me) with a pipe (not in the pic, I was behind the camera). One of the guys I gifted a pipe and some tobacco samples to a few years ago is still occasionally picking it up and smoking when he needs to relax and think over problems🙂. His daughter gives him crap about what she “assumes” he is “really” smoking, so he doesn’t partake often, but he says he enjoys it. It’s a straight pipe, he thought a bent might be easier to smoke while using both hands. He is a diesel mechanic/auto mechanic. I may have to find him a bent, I’m sure I have an extra around here somewhere.
It wasn’t too bad outside for an hour plus, or so, with the fire pits and patio heater going. I think the temperature at that point was around 20F. Then the wind picked up and dropped in from the north around the end of my pipe bowl….good timing 🙂 …. The temperature dropped a bit and the wind chill was…...brisk. The temperature was about 10F at that point. One other fellow that was late to the smokefest decided to stop his cigar smoke mid vitola. He and I were the last holdouts and we both got the hell out of the cold🥶. Yes, there are a few that had freaking T-Shirts, shorts, light jackets. I must be getting old. I had a T-Shirt, a long sleeved sweatshirt and my medium weight hoodie….zipped up.
Oh, I almost forgot…I had one of my Pete Deluxe 53 Lovat’s loaded with some Newminster No.400 Superior Navy Flake. It was so tasty, I’m gonna load another bowl for my after dinner smoke. I just have to choose a pipe🙂

Handsome, indeed. Are you sure it was a shadow or maybe a copilot or even a guardian angel?

If he is worth a damn, that's is exactly what he did.
Yep. Glad you're enjoying it...
Yet another cool looking pipe!!
That is a sweet pipe. It looks antique with a amber stem?
Yup. It was made by Colossus Pipe Factory sometime between 1850 and 1910. Stem is amber, great smoker. 🎅🏻
That is beyond Awesome. That definitely has me pipe envy working overtime. Well done Brother.
So how did you acquire this magnificent pipe? I'm sure there is a story...
Weeelllll. I was sitting in a bar when a nun, a hamster and a rabbi came in ................. and when they left I had a new pipe. 🎅🏻
Enjoying some Christmas Spice in my reworked Christmas pipe...
Waaaay to cold for this boy, but looked like a good time.
Beautiful pipe...
👍🏻
Brother, that is a beautiful pipe!
Both very cool pipes and love the grain!
