Don't have a go to. Have several that are always open - Dunhill Standard and MM Baby's Bottom, Peterson Old Dublin, H&H White Knight,Lane Ready Rubbed, Arrowhead from Paul's Pipe Shop in Flint.
First smoke of the day is usually Dunhill EMP or Prince Albert with coffee. As the day goes on it all depends on what mood I'm in for what other blends of tobacco I smoke.
Lane 1Q, Boswells Christmas Cookie, Cult Abacus, and in the summer Holts Cigar Company Sweet Georgia Brown (its a national bulk, but I don't know the real name...just what they call it). You can say I have a sweet tooth!
My go to blends right now are C&D's Irish Blessing and Founding Fathers. However, I finally found a straight Virginia blend that I think is going to become very common in my rotation, Gawith Hogarth & Co. Kendal Gold.
Russ' Monthly Blend "Warm-Up", from Sutliff "Vanilla Custard", "Chocolate Mousse", Crème Brulee, Maple Walnut, Molto Dolce, and Out Of Office "Gone Fishing". I imagine if I were forced to remove everything else from my cellar but these blends I could still be a happy smoker. "Warm-Up" will be the hardest blend to part with as it's headed for extinction due to the FDA Deeming regulations.
I don't have a firm "go-to" blend but I do have two private blends that I smoke whenever nothing else calls out to me. I created them with Jon David Cole at The Country Squire - Senior Chief and Lighthouse Keeper.
My current regular tobaccos are I. J. Peretti's D-7485 English style blend and for an aromatic, Country Squire's Parson's blend. Very much like the Dark Red and Shortcut To Mushrooms, as others mentioned.
lately I've been oscillating back and forth between straight Virginia's and English blends......so, these days I'd have to say either McClelland 5100 Red Cake or GLP Quiet Nights.
A good majority of us selected more than one blend. What if the situation arose and you were limited to only one blend - what would that be? I'm still struggling with my answer.
I have only tried three tobaccos so far. Captain Black cherry which tasted like cherry chap stick and ended up in the garbage. Half and half which I liked and smoked two pouches of and petersons irish flake which I love. Looking forward to trying more.
