Don't know where you're getting your info @Emari32. You can look at OGS and easily tell that there is no Black Cavendish in it. There is also no Burley. My mouth is oversensitive to Burley; there's definitely none there.
OGS is simply Virginia, Perique, and a citrusy top note. I accept the official statements from Orlik(STG) that the original use of the word Burley and not Perique on early tins of OGS was a typo.
If you don't believe there is Perique, simply pull apart the flakes and separate out the black bits into a pile and smoke just those.
@johnlawitzke I have never thought of doing that. I wonder how that would smoke just the black bits from the flake? Have you ever tried it? I really enjoy OGS but it never occurred to me to separate it out HMMMM. I might have to just try it.
Put <<Is there perique in Orlik Golden Sliced pipe tobacco>> into Google:
From the tin: "This blend is composed of golden Virginia tobaccos with a touch of Perique. A fine natural sweetness in both taste and aroma characterizes Orlik Golden Sliced. The cut is a traditional Navy Cut Flake i.e. pressed and cut into thin slices. Rub the tobacco slices gently before filling your pipe."Sep 27, 2014
I’m voting that is does indeed have some. I love straight Virginias, and I don’t care for OGS. I can taste that peppery flavor that I dislike about Perique.

if it is there... I can't taste it.
