According to the latest STG listing,pressed Virginia,toasted Burley and Black Cavendish. Whatever they use it's damn good

Don't know where you're getting your info @Emari32.  You can look at OGS and easily tell that there is no Black Cavendish in it.  There is also no Burley.  My mouth is oversensitive to Burley; there's definitely none there.  

OGS is simply Virginia, Perique, and a citrusy top note.  I accept the official statements from Orlik(STG) that the original use of the word Burley and not Perique on early tins of OGS was a typo.

If you don't believe there is Perique, simply pull apart the flakes and separate out the black bits into a pile and smoke just those.

@johnlawitzke I have never thought of doing that. I wonder how that would smoke just the black bits from the flake? Have you ever tried it? I really enjoy OGS but it never occurred to me to separate it out HMMMM. I might have to just try it.

I definitely taste and feel the perique.

I'm going to say that I feel like Perique is in the blend.  You can taste the spiciness of the perique it's definitely not a burley flavor.

A fresh tin smells like orange juice, so I'm going to go with that.

I don't taste the perique but I don't taste it in Escudo either, which is quite ok with me. Anybody try Astley's 109? I prefer to OGS.

I would agree it has the perique, hard to sense in a pipe, but roll some up in a cigarette and you know its there.

I’m voting that is does indeed have some. I love straight Virginias, and I don’t care for OGS. I can taste that peppery flavor that I dislike about Perique.
