@motie2 - I’m not sure, but HGL is a very nice (mellow) English blend. I’m sure it has some black cavendish in it to add sweetness. I’ve been smoking it for about 10 years now. My local pipe shop calls it “Sherlock’s.”
Doing some Smoker's Pride (Lane) Vanilla Cavendish in my CAO latticed billiard meerschaum. This is the meerschaum I didn't sell at the pipe show and now I'm glad I didn't. I really like this little pipe.
@motie2 yes sir. I think you will like it. Can't describe it but it's actually kind of aromatic but not sweet. I think of vanilla, leather and wood. Pairs well with bourbon as you see I often have the two together.
@Michael308 , that photo above looks like it might have come out of a Clint Eastwood movie. the expression on your face is reminiscent of Lee Van Cleef
So this blend continues to get better and more intriguing! It appears to have a much more intense flavor, not to full, not heavy, just intense in a good way if that makes sense. The natural sweetness from the Virginias is mellowing more as the tobacco ages and settles. And the room note just says "be calm". I sure hope there's a follow up blend to this next holiday season. #pipelife #pipejunkie #TPL #CobStrong #CobLife #MissouriMeerschaum #SutliffTobacco #Blowin'Smoke #WhatchaSmokin' #it'swhatIdo #PSSITA
@S8ntsfan - that’s good to hear about Cringle Flake. I bought a tin and plan on opening it next Christmas after I purchase a 2020 tin. This might end up replacing people’s Christmas Cheer routine of letting a tin age for a year before opening it the following holiday season.
@mfresa What's funny is that was not a posed photo. As I took the picture a car pulled past my driveway very slowly with several guys staring me down.... When it moved on I saw the photo had took and decided to post it as was. lol
On this Cob Tuesday celebrating St. Parties day with some Elysian green space dust in my MM Diplomat and a little LL7 while my brisket Cooks in the instant pot....mmmm
Happy St. Patrick’s Day! My traditional inaugural smoke in my Peterson (01) St. Patrick’s Day 2020 pipe. I have been waiting for a month or more to smoke this pipe. Today I have it loaded with Peterson’s LE 2015 St. Patrick’s Day tobacco, it is one of the few cube cut tobaccos in my cellar. No worries with the ash all over the front of my shirt...I have not gone up in flames....yet....I still have an occasional cough that blew ash out of my pipe😖
Coughing and or sneezing while smoking your pipe, I hate it when that happens, had to stop and get a beer out of the trunk (lucky I had some) to put the back seat out once years ago.
Celebrating St. Patrick's Day by smoking my Emerald cob with C&D's Engine 99. I also have a bowl of Eastfarthing in a Peterson nearby, so I can fully enjoy the holiday.

Gotta take a look at this LL7 of which you speak.
Taking things easy tonight with St. Bruno Flake in my Savinelli Dublin. It's nice to get away from a stressful world and enjoy a pipe.

I really lucked out on this sandblast, the ring-grain and stain is pretty nice for a mass produced pipe.
