Maltese Falcon in my no name factory second. I'm still trying to figure out where to put Maltese Falcon on my smoking experience. It is easier to smoke than Dunhill's standard mixture medium with less tongue bite and less ghosting in the bowl. The floral notes from the orientals come and go throughout the bowl. I did have a slight problem with a bit of gurgle bit the humidity is near tropical today so that might have something to do with it. This might stay in rotation this summer instead of being shelved until fall.
Keeping my foot up on the open deck after having a piece of an ingrown toenail removed, while partaking some Sunset Rum in a reworked/refurbed Willard...
@jfreedy@riobrusa. Yep, you're both right. I "supervised" SWMBO while relaxing with my pipe as she painted! It was definitely a new experience... 😬 The word "milking" comes to mind, but I'm doing my best to get as much mileage out of this as I can... 😉
PS English Luxury in my “new” pre-Lane Charatan Dublin. I got this pipe for a song on eBay but later found out why. It has a spot that’s in the beginning stages of burnout. So I made some pipe mud and built up that area inside the bowl. This morning is my maiden voyage, and it REALLY smokes nice. Very light, open draw, tobaccos stays lit well. No complaints. I will baby this one and hopefully get a lot of good years out of it before it gives up the ghost. 😄
@KA9FFJ - You cannot go wrong with Vanilla Custard. However, I prefer Lane's Vanilla Black Cavendish for a vanilla pipe tobacco, for smoking straight or blending.
Enjoying some Sutliff Creme Brulee in a stripped and refinished alligator apple. Sidenote: I could use some help with this pipe. No markings found anywhere except "ALLIGATOR" stamped on the bottom of the bowl. It also has a beautifully patterned Lucite stem, but here again, no markings. Any ideas guys?...
By golly you're correct @motie2. After Googling Sav. Alligator, and saw the stamping that was suppose to be on the stem. I held another closer inspection. The semi-oval shape is there, but so faint and shallow that it almost blended perfectly with the stem pattern. I'll try to bring the stamping out, but I really don't think there's enough to do so... At least because of you, I know now I have a Savinelli... Tnx so much motie2... You're the best...
Two half bowls of Balkan Sasieni and BlackHouse. (I must be having a nervous breakdown). BTW, the Sasieni is better; Latakia with hints of the oriental leaf and incense. The BlackHouse won the 759 throwdown, but it's bland IMHO. (Of course, I'm an aromatic smoker, so what the hell do I know?)
If you want to try something really, really weird in an English blend, try GLP's Gaslight. It's the strangest tobacco I've ever smoked. It smells HORRIBLE from the tin, but it's an INCREDIBLE smoke..... and I'm an aro man. Of course, you've gotta love creosote..... Seriously.....

Thanks for the review. I appreciate it....

ANY tobacco tastes wonderful (especially SVC) when smoked in a 'special pipe" that has been owned previously by someone you respect and admire.
