The Coolest Non-Smoking Item I Found In An Antique Shop

Today my wife and I celebrated her birthday by antique shopping in the Amish community of Nappanee, Indiana. And while looking over a variety of old junk and genuine antique treasures I came upon the most unique and coolest item I've ever seen in all my journeys ... a genuine Swedish manual fog horn. The thing was a real beauty, unfortunately at $500.00 it was a little too pricey for me. I would have loved to buy this and terrorize my neighbors who have a tendency to turn-up the bass on their Rap Music and max out the volume. A few midnight blasts from this haunting fog horn would send chills up the spine of any unsuspecting resident. No one would know exactly what it was - but I assure you - in this day and age when fear of the impending apocalypse is upon us I'm sure some would be thinking it was the trumpet blast of Angels on High signaling "The End Is Near".

Just enough to embarrass my wife. Loud and very haunting. Kinda' like a dinosaur with it's foot caught in a trap.

I've contemplated different methods for drowning out loud music from neighbors. Everything from hardcore punk music to learning how to play the bagpipes. That said, a foghorn blast seems like a most effective way to teach the neighborhood a lesson.

Speaking of “foghorns”, my brother has an old WWII hand crank air-raid siren. That thing is loud for such a compact package and no “trumpet” shaped exterior. Damn thing is crazy heavy though, mostly cast iron. I bet the neighbors would get a kick out of that thing blaring away😜

Once I had a neighbor blasting rap music next door so loud I could hear it in my living room (and our houses weren't connected). So I put on a spastic punk band called 90 Lb Wuss and cranked up the volume. 90 Lb Wuss has a very, let's say, off putting sound to them (especially if you hate screaming music), but I've grown to appreciate their music. After about two songs, the neighbors got the hint.
