@motie2 Cheer up brother. We all are just thankful you still have your iPad... It reached the high 60s today, so while doing a little outside work I had a fresca with a bowl... Pretty high class, huh?...
@motie2, so it's not a virus or malware issue? Are you saying that it's the mileage you have put on that unit, that is creating the hard drive issue?
I looked at a used MAC that had a large screen, probably around 15 to 16 inches. They guy trying to sell it to me in the store, told me that they don't make that model anymore, but that it is still a popular model among MAC users. I was a little reluctant to buy a used computer for a variety of reasons. I suppose I need to learn a little more about them, before I can make an educated decision.
I know one thing, I am about ready to take a heavy ballpein to this PC that I am currently using. :^/
I ran ever test, my know it all son (#2) worked his magic and the thing is tottering. Wouldn't boot, then did, unplugged, 24 hrs, won't, will, some apps work, some won't. New iMac on the way. [From iPad]
@motie2 The computer tests you ran sounded like the outcome of my enlarged prostate problem: sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't... Seriously, I do hope you get the problem(s) resolved. Nothing is more frustrating than when something just quits through no fault of your own...
I see lots of good stuff! I tired a beer today, I will never touch that crap again, was a Mexican beer with tomato juice in it, for some reason I did not see where it said it had tomato juice in it, tasted like a bloody Mary beer and I don't like bloody Mary's! Started with an M.....
@motie2 Stay away from the booze while you're on meds. Don't want to be watching the news tonight and see some Breaking News story about a bearded naked guy sitting atop a water tower in Springfield New Jersey smoking a pipe and tossing peanuts at passer-byes.
@Wolf41035 While based in Maryland we'd sometimes run into "Green Tasting" beer. Being Soldiers we'd never waste alcohol so we'd put an oz. or so of Tomato Juice in it to cover the bitter taste. If it happens today, I dump it.
Had the chance to read an interview from 1970 done with my wife's great-grandfather. His family settled in the central valley of CA in the 1880's, so this was an interview about life in the valley that was done by the Fresno County Historical Society. He was recounting life in the early 1900's working at his father's general store in downtown Fresno where as a young boy he was responsible for transferring bulk coffee beans into 1, 2 and 5lb bags. He specifically mentioned Arbuckles coffee (the coffee that won the West). So, I looked it up and found out they are still roasting Arbuckles coffee and each 1lb bag still comes packaged with a peppermint stick in the beans. (It was a marketing technique to encourage the cooks on the chuck wagon to buy their coffee).
I'm enjoying a hot cup of Arbuckles coffee with a noontime pipe filled with Orlk Golden Sliced.
Don't laugh until you've tried it... THEN you can laugh. Every now and then, I partake of some of my cherry blends. Usually, but not exclusively during the non-winter months. On rare occasions, I will enjoy some, let's say Sutliff Black Cherry or Lane Dark Red while I sip on a cherry Coke... your heard me... a cherry Coke! It still amazes me that I find the combination pleasing and enjoyable. I broke my non-winter tradition and had a bowl and can the other day... Go figure!
Read or hear, somewhere that sweet tobacco should be pairing with sweet drink. So, you have the perfect combination: cherry tobacco and cherry coca and also you will get a "sugar boost".
