OMG.......what is wrong with those people. They want to take away our tobacco, now they are laying the groundwork to take away our coffee. What a joke. Thanks to government regulation / standards our air is poisoned, our water is poisoned, the government allows for imports from China that has killed people, medicines that kill people just because "big pharma" is such a huge money hole who donates to all of the politicos.....
I would bet money if the tobacco companies and the coffee manufacturers / blenders donated money to their campaigns anywhere near the level "big pharma" does, they wouldn't make a peep. These people in every level of government just make me shake my head in disbelief (and disgust).
Ever wonder what it would be like to step into a mirror? It seems we somehow ended up on the other side of the mirror. It appears everything these days is the opposite of what once was. Just saying. Time to stop the nonsense and leave people alone. Don't like coffee or tobacco? Fine, no problem. Just don't use it but stop trying to control everyone else.
OTOH, SWMBO and I would come home from dinner at a nice restaurant and have to wash our clothes and hair. We reeked of tobacco. I used to say folks should be able to smoke in bars and restaurants, so long as I am allowed to carry and use a squirt gun filled with cat urine. Then the laws changed. Makes going to restaurants and our favorite Irish tavern a lot more pleasant.
My favorite morning blend is my own: Fletch's Blend. Call me simple, but it's a mixture of 1Q and BCA that I've combined to give an aroma of vanilla scone. That being said, I've been on an english kick for the past year, so I only enjoy my blend with coffee on the weekends.
In the Am after a good breakfast, I love a piping hot cup of cafe mocha with my pipe packed with Very Cherry or Prince Albert tobacco. In the evening after a hot bath especially if it’s been a long day as today was , I have a piping hot cup of decaf cafe mocha with one of the above tobaccos. I highly recommend the above even though I am a rookie pipe smoker it’s a great way to start and end your day.
@Charles I drink coffee while driving longer distances and I'm mostly on the Interstates, As @motie2 so well illustrated, I take advantage of every other Rest Stop(At least) to offload, fill the insulated travel mug half way, pack and light or relight the pipe and travel. There was some research done on coffee vs. short nap and there was an interesting result, People over 50 the coffee served to keep the awake, under 50 a short nap was more effective.
@pwkarch The big tobacco contribute a lot of money. They're banning the RYO's and including all the small independents that make our great blends, what company can afford the Egregious amount of money to get a blend "passed" by the corrupt FDA? Of course that will give them a monopoly on pipe tobacco so it's a tiny amount to pay. I'm sure they've bribed the FDA lots more than that to come up with the thievery in the first place.
Being from deep southern US there is just one choice for the best coffee to pair with any tobacco. My opinion is that Community Dark Roast pairs best with any tobacco I choose for the day.
In October we take a group to El Salvador, on a mission trip to build houses. When were there many of the local's have a cottage industry of growing, and selling their coffee, we load up on it , it is the smoothest coffee we have every had. That and a good bowl makes for a perfect lazy Saturday morning.
It seems Starbucks isn't popular with some members, and that is ok. I like going into Starbucks with a book and ordering Dark Roast and a Blueberry muffin. Starbucks Italian Roast instant coffee is a favorite.I have been drinking coffee since I was about 12 yrs old, definitely my favorite beverage.
As long as it’s not from McDonald’s, I’ll drink whatever. DD, Starbucks...little Joe Schmoe cafe. I’m a city dweller, so everything kinda sucks. Mostly like to sit at home in front of TPL, frittering my time between education and pleasure. Lol.
I find coffee dries out my mouth ... especially when smoking, so I've been leaning more and more towards a variety of Tea. Since I smoke aromatics tea seems to pair up better for me - but I still mix it up and have coffee as well.

Yes, we always seem to end up with who we deserve........what a shame.
