Sorry been offline and busy with farm. Today I am doing a deadly sin for me, I am drinking a Coke, I have been off soft drinks, pop, soda, cokes for a while now and today I picked one up to have a change in what I have been drinking (water, tea and Powerade Zero) besides my alcohol....Anyway Smoked some Erin Go Bragh earlier and had a coke afterwards. Tonight I will have a little Whiskey and smoke some more Erin Go Bragh.
Community Coffee Breakfast Blend this morning. I know it's not freshly ground from beans I roasted myself but you coffee snobs will have to get over it.
Good morning pipers! Today, i am drinking fresh ground Dunkin Donuts coffee and just cant decide on which pipe or tobacco i should indulge in. Decisions, decisions... hmmmm
Cafe Bustelo Espresso blend with another bowl of Mrs. Hudson's in my new Charatan Dublin. This afternoon I'm going to pop a tin of Pease's Virginia Cream, recommended by @xDutchx.
Oh, what a beautiful morning; Oh, what a beautiful day......
Jonah's Curse Black Spiced Rum. Folks, I've tried all the national and regional label spiced rums, and this one's the best. 94 Proof, but a smooth sippin' rum, nevertheless. If you like spiced rums and can get it, give it a try. I think it's both counter-intuitive and hilarious that it's made in Louisville, Kentucky. Yes, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum is made in freakin' Edison NJ, but it's not a champion like Jonah's Curse.
After several years of sampling I found "Cruzan 9" to be the second best. The popular Captain Morgan line, the Kraken, Barcardi, Ronrico, .... all varying degrees of ok, but none of them noteworthy, IMHO. Now remember, we're only talking spiced rums. In regular rums, it's gotta be Westerhall Plantation Rum from Grenada.
Weihenstephaner Weisbier with a bowl of my own "Best of the Rest," a humidor jar filled with a mix of Molto Dolce, Maple Street, Creme Brulee, and Barbados Plantation remainders. When I smoke the lion's share of my Vanilla Custard, the remainder of that will go in the humidor jar, too.
The only thing that won't go in is Mrs. Hudson's, the one blend that's too damn good to mix with anything else.
Drinking something absolutely horrible. I love V8 and when my wife and I went into Cosco recently there was a new V8 product called "Healthy Greens" which as you would expect contains eight types of green vegetables. Looks like something sold in a Health Food Store - which would usually be enough to keep me from attempting it - but that particular day I was feeling my oats and thought I'd give it a try and bought a box full. (You know everything in Cosco comes by the case load). Well let me tell you that stuff is hard to keep down. I keep trying to convince myself it's healthy but my stomach keeps telling me ... "One more sip Joe, and you'll be sorry."
If there's a Trader Joe near you, they sell a fruit/veggie blend called "Green." It sorta looks like motor oil (SWMBO won't even try it because of the color, but it's freakin' delicious. The big name in green juice is more expensive, but not really worth the difference.:
@ghostsofpompeii@motie2 - I hear Vodka makes the V-8 Green stuff taste better. That's what I was told because I don't drink Vodka and I'm not into drinking stuff that looks like someone ran a bunch of lawn grass through a juicer.
IMHO, nothing makes the V-8 green palatable. But, again, the best green drink is the Naked version (that's actually a brand name in fruit/vegetable beverages). But the bargain is Trader Joe's green drink which is almost as good, but MUCH cheaper.
Drinking TinCup Whiskey the past few days, didn't want to drink all my Pappy's and all my Woodford Reserve Double Oaked is gone so I will drink this stuff and smoke even more until I run out, I think the next bottle of cheap stuff will be Bourbon 30, I hear they think it compares to Pappy's, I will see! lol
