Sunshine today, and pleasantly warm. Smoked a bowl of Barbados Plantation in my Duncan Hill Aerosphere, one of three pipes I kept from my first go around with pipe smoking, around 1964 until 1984 or thereabouts. Duncan Hill was marketed by EA Carey, and you can still find several on eBay. The Aerosphere gimmick was a kind of carburetor, trying to accomplish what EA Carey Magic Inch pipes did but without a papyrate sleeve.
Getting ready to take a maiden voyage with my new @Corey562 pipe I just received yesterday afternoon! I'll be firing up some VG Black and Gold Cavendish... Chasing it down with a little semi-sweet white wine from a local winery in Missouri... Right now, life is good...
Captain Black in my homemade cobb, still rough cut,.. some sanding and leveling on the top left...."not bad"....smokes great.! Broke my MM Maple, used the stem.
What do you guys recommend........ I'm an all day pipe smoker. For years I might add, looking for a new aromatic blend . At the present smoking Lane 1Q For me it just doesn't keep it's good flavor all day . Thanking you guys in advance . Bob
@Azmtnboy Well, that question is like asking what's the best car to drive. It's such a personal thing... However, that being said, check out P&C description of Lane RLP-6. It might be the "all-dayer" you're looking for...
@Azmtnboy, i agree with @KA9FFJ, on blends and RLP-6. Im an all day smoker myself, and lately I've been smoking Brigadier Black "Bull Run", as an all dayer. Very good Black Cavendish w/ gold, and a great top note of Vanilla, at a great price. "Just my opinion."...maybe worth trying.
@Azmtnboy you’ll here this a lot, but we’re fans of the country squire. I love treasure island, second breakfast, and old Toby. For something a little bit less sweet (as far as aromatic) I’d suggest Rivendell, it’s sweet, nutty, and smooth. these are all on thecountrysquireonline.com.
@Azmtnboy -- Sutliff Private Stock Barbados Plantation (rum blend) It's what I smoke 90% of the time. The other ten percent are Lane VBC (Vanilla Black Cavendish) and Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce.
