I was going to have some royal yacht in my mm diplomat, but the pipe went foul. I keep my pipes including my cobs clean as possible. I switched to some London dock in my Kaywoodie.
For those of you who like strong English blends, I can't highly recommend King of Swords enough. It has become my all time favorite smoke. It's a house blend from King Smoking Pipes and Cigars. I enjoyed a few bowls of it today in a Nording and a Thompson. I can't get enough of this stuff! A Lat bomb of atomic proportions.
Smoked some Dunhill Early Morning Pipe in my Peterson Kinsale Bulldog this morning before heading off to work. It's going to be about 84-defrees here in Philly and I'm stuck in an office all day prepping a case for trial.
@KA9FFJ I was a one blend guy (Barbados Plantation) until one of our colleagues (OK, it was @pwkarch) turned me on to LANE VBC. Now, I only smoke two blends. Others had tried to have me try other blends, but while I was trying a new tobacco, I'd find myself thinking, "Why am I not smoking BP?"
But Lane VBC was a keeper from the first charring light: "Woooooooo, what's this?"
@motie2 soon everyone will be smoking Barbados Plantation. I had to run out to my B&M for some filters since I forgot to order some. I tried looking for it when I was there so I could try it. I did pick up some lane VBC.
I smoked a Ramon Bueso Genesis Robusto, sitting in the sun after a rather hectic morning. Very enjoyable.......oops, sorry, wrong kind of tobacco. Forgive me I am almost as old as Motie.
Orlik Golden Sliced in my MM Country Gentleman. It’s been aging in a jar for about 6 months which really helps the flavor. Straight out of the tin it smelled like cigarette tobacco. It’s much sweeter and mellower now. That said, I don’t see this ever becoming one of my favorites. I hear so many pipe smokers who LOVE this stuff. I just don’t get it. I keep trying to be one of the “cool kids” but I guess it just ain’t for me. I’ll try it again in another 6 months.
@Jayhawk422 -- BP is a great aro blend, as is the VBC.
But, if you like English/Lat blends or VaPers, there are many fine products out there. In the 70's and 80's they were all I smoked and I looked down on aro smokers. But, as they say, "De gustibus....." Now I can't tolerate Latakia or Oriental forwards, and having found BP after going through seven or eight different aros, I was a confirmed aro smoker. I'm babbling; I'll stop.
@motie2 I switch between a lot of blend types depending on my mood and weather. I started out being a English guy then branched into VaPer, then Virginia, then burley and now appreciating Aros. I typically go for more English when hot out and more virgina when cold. I know that it is backwards for most people, but I never claimed to do things the right way.

A little mixture I made...I call it Spiced Prum Cake. It’s Plumcake(obviously), Barbados Plantation and a bit of Nording Hunter Series
Now, for a black cavendish dream smoke, try LAne VBC
