Wow some can take jokes, others can't and yet even more can dish them out but can't take them......Joking again! We all know PappyJoe is on here a lot, I would be as well but my PC is old and doesn't always work, I kind of like it that way! LOL I will keep coming back and entering as much as it will allow me, I need a new pipe. My newest pipe is from 1989 when I was in the military, it is an OK pipe but not as good as the giveaway pipes by a LONG shot!
So PappyJoe, is that anchor because you served in the Navy or because you have a boat?
@wolf41035 - Navy? Navy? Get your eyes checked there mate! That's no sea scout device your looking at. I was a member of the longest continually serving sea service this country has - now known as the U.S. Coast Guard. The Continental Navy was disbanded after the Revolutionary War ended and the US Navy was not created until 1798. The Coast Guard had its beginning in 1790.
One of our unofficial mottos is, "Guarding the coast, keeping Navy wives happy and making beautiful Navy babies for over 225 years."
@pappyjoe I am glad you won. I know for sure if you won then I got a chance now. Every time I was logging in I knew you had probably twice as much as I did HA HA HA. You at least posted images of your pipe once you got it. It looks great BTW.
@pappyjoe I'm like you I love interacting with the members on this forum and love coming back. Truth be told there are some pipe forums that have around long enough I feel lost in the dust as there is to many old posts and the members don't seem to active (or as nice as those on here).
Pipes are really nice, and as I sit here smoking a bowl of Captain Black original in a Brigham I realize that the pipe is only half of it.Thanks to all of you at STG for keeping my favorite blends available.
Going to get on here everyday as long as my PC doesn't go belly up again, I have to win one of them pipes! LOL As Pappy said, if he can win we all have a chance, just got to get in here every day!
Finished up a bold of Peterson Irish Whiskey. Looking forward to seeing who has won this month. Trying to figure out if I need to login more for the rest of the month.
I suggest logging in to chat with the other members, expand your knowledge, help those with questions, and to be active in the community. I don't think this site was created for people to log in only to get another 'raffle ticket' and win a prize...but hey, to each their own.
Agreed @PipeProfessor , the raffle is the icing on the cake. This is blossoming into a great community. I recently moved to Houston and it is nice to have a group of folks that share the hobby to converse with.
Glad you agree @subtilis87, I am sure there will be some here who won't though. Oh well. If you are in Houston you need to check out Briar Shoppe Pipes and Cigars. They are the oldest Tabacconist in the metro area. I have spoken with them on IG (@briarshoppecigars) and they are a great group of people. If you stop by let then know @badassbriars says hi!
@pipeprofessor I agree with you the contest is the icing on the cake. I find it more fun talking with the members and being able to learn from others, especially since I have no pipe smokers that I know besides the ones I started.
@abreathawayfromglory I am to young, I doubt I will ever be able to retire. They keep bumping my retirement age. Let me know how it goes when you make it.
