I recently went to my family doctor for a routine check-up and to have my prescriptions renewed and during the course of the conversation I told him both my Dad and Grandson passed away in a matter of a month and a half. And in that time I've been having severe anxiety, pent-up anger issues, and sleeping problems even beyond my normal insomnia. He is well aware of my medical history and believe it or not he suggested I kick back and smoke my pipe to help relieve the stress. He already knew I was a pipe smoker by my medical records, so it's not like he was suggesting a non-smoker start taking up pipe smoking - but he knew I was already a pipe smoker.
So for the first time that I can remember, a doctor prescribed smoking a pipe as a stress relieving way of dealing with stress and anxiety.
Best marriage advice I received was "It's better to have peace than to be right." After almost 23 years of marriage I find this to be true most of the time.
@Londy3 If you're a fan of Ron White, check out one of the funniest stories I ever heard. I don't know how to link it, but do a simple search for: "Ron White dead dog YouTube" and you'll get the hit. I laugh every time I hear it...
That above clip is from the Jimmy Stewart movie "Harvey", about a man and his drinking companion Harvey, an invisible six foot two inch rabbit. With the current state of the World, I think this is an excellent escapist flick to take your mind of the troubles of the day and give yourself the opportunity to spend an evening or afternoon with Elwood P. Dowd, one of the most pleasant man you'll ever meet. Not bad company when you're locked down in quarantine.
