@JaGri1, yep they are back up and running, and have set a limit of 3 per customer. I have 3 of the acrylics on the way. I was disappointed to see they are not offering the P-Lip model. I wish I had secured a few of those back when they were available.
I've got close to 20 cobs that I smoke regularly. Got another 12 on a shelf unsmoked from the good old smokeable seconds days when $15 bought 10 pipes. I only notice a new cob at the end because the Birchwood plug can screw the flavor up until it cakes over. However I believe a thinly caked and long smoked cob adds to the smoking enjoyment of any burley. Prince Albert is perfect in that pipe
@paulwansing IMHO (In my humble opinion), all pipe smokers should have at least a few cobs in their rotation. They're economical and, as you said, once the beginning of a cake starts to appear, they really do provide a pleasant experience... I carefully chisel out the shank portion that extends into the bowl and if need be, I use finely, almost powered, cigar ash and distilled water mix to "mud" in the bottom of the bowl. Not necessary, but I'm retired and look for stuff to do...😏

Nah! I've never bothered with a break-in of a cob. They are just made to load and smoke.
In my opinion, of course.
I’ll save you a read: Nothing in Greg’s article speaks of cob break-in.
