Nothing beats the Fall in the Midwest for smoking outdoors - or in the garage for that matter. The smell of autumn goes hand-in-hand with pipe smoking. Off in the distance someone is illegally burning oak leaves. The mosquitoes have gone. All Hallows Eve is right around the corner. And there is nothing like smoking your pipe in the moonlight on a brisk October evening as midnight approaches.
Actually if I'm in my garage and the heat isn't overbearing - I do like smoking when it's raining. I'll open the garage door and let the fresh air in, watch the rain come down and clean the air ... and so long as it's not a torrential downpour with gale force winds ... but a gentle rainfall ... it's really pretty nice to sit and smoke.
I only smoke a pipe in the comfort of my home so my favorite time is anytime I can sit down and relax without the thought that I should be getting something done. Mostly in the winter when I have lots of time off and no yard work to do.
