Tea and Pipes

Drinking tea is a very relaxing activity that seems to go well with pipe smoking. Coffee drinkers are a whole different breed, the most rabid of whom seem to become hysterical if they don't have their morning fix. You never hear tea drinkers claiming that they absolutely can't function without it.

I always make a pot of tea, my favorite is Gunpowder Green Tea, hot in the Am and cold months, iced in hot weather, I buy it by the Kilo.

I like pure leaf unsweetened and a burley mixture.

I prefer tea with my smoke because coffee has a natural tendency to dry out your mouth. So since there are tobacco blends that can sap the moisture from your mouth like a cotton ball the last thing you need is to quench your thirst with is a sponge. Lightly sweetened tea with honey ... like Earl Grey goes perfectly with most aromatic blends. And helps keep the tongue moist.
