Hello Pipe and Tobacco Aficionados, I hope that your 2022 pipe and tobacco moments have started out providing you with the pleasures and relaxation you deserve. I also hope that your blends are fresh and your pies are clean and at the ready. I decided to come into "The Lounge" today in order to take a look around and see who was hanging out in this place. :-) Today is a very cloudy day out this way with rain and the drop in temps. moving into the area. Speaking of fresh starts I wanted to share that I have taken a stroll down memory lane and located a pretty nice "WDC Wellington Church" Briar pipe. I really don't have much more information on this piece due to the lack of additional information however I was informed that this brand has been around for some time. If you own one or have any information on the Wellingtons I would appreciate any information you would be willing to share. I just wanted to drop in and share some greetings and salutations. Please remember, smoke what you like and like what you smoke, it's the combination you choose for the moment. Stay safe out there.

Angus Young's father (ACDC fame) always used to say "people know what they like and they like what they know"
I restored a Wellington last summer. It was in horrible condition and smelled like it was in a damp dungeon for 382 years. I did the salt and vodka treatment 6 times after reaming the bowl and brushed the absolute hell out of the stem. After retorting the pipe twice and sanitizing it numerous times, I got the smell out and started to work on the outside. It turned out pretty good. I used a white paint stick to redo the logos. I’ll post a picture tomorrow of it.
Northwoods is always a good choice!
If you haven't found it already, pipedia.org is a great place for pipe mfg. info., also pipephil.eu for logos.
I have about 50 WDC pipes, but only five or so are Wellingtons. Two of them are "Baby Wellingtons", just the opposite of your Jumbo Churchwarden Wellington I keep looking for a nice Jumbo at a good price (read cheap).
Don't forget to post the pictures, if you have time.
Tip:
Use cigarette ash and either a paper towel or your finger to rub the metal fitting.
You might be pleasantly surprised how the discoloration dissipates and the shine is pretty much restored...
You probably have to keep that little Wellington out in plain sight, or you stand the chance of losing it forever... 😏
Sweet! Nice work Brother.
I never dreamed I'd say this to another man, but mine is smaller than yours.
The discoloration was my own fault. It was silver and I was a little too liberal with the buffing wheel and burnt the plating off. I continued to remove the rest so it looked uniform. I haven’t polished it in awhile. It would do it some good. Thanks!
Thank you!
I'd comment on that post, but I won't
I do have another one somewhere🤔. It may be in a cigar box with the shiny little black cob I have? That there pipe you have is tiny, is it functional? I think I have a tiny little lighter around here just the right size for lighting such a pipe. Now you just need to find a tiny tamper😬. Well, maybe some super fine cut Koiki Kizami tobacco as well? By the way, if anybody can procure some, keep me in mind🙂
