@motie2 I know, I do. It’s been hard on everyone. Since I’m ‘essential’, because people will LITERALLY DIE if they don’t have Cheetos and Doritos to eat, I was only getting one day off every 22 days for six months. They just about worked us to death, and I’m sure that the post office is feeling the same.
But I’ve not gotten one single package on time since the first term of Mr. Obama. They were a mess before Covid-19 and are apt to remain one. USPS needs to be completely overhauled, but I doubt that will ever happen.
Have the strength of your convictions: "KINDA sucks?" No, it REALLY sucks, having been hollowed out, like so many other United States governmental institutions.
@Londy3 "Kinda sucks" Man, you are being too generous and forgiving of USPS.
I sent a package (not a Secret Santa) to a fellow member on 12/16 with a scheduled delivery date of 12/19. The package was in "in transit" status at the New Orleans Origin Facility until yesterday. I think movement was restarted when I filed a complaint and accused USPS of having either incompetent workers or workers who were stealing packages.
@KA9FFJ I’m in the same boat. My Elf purchased my gift from some place in Jackson, Mississippi (I just can’t imagine what it could be...there’s no tobacconist in Jackson, and certainly not one that’s now owned by a young man that I call ‘friend’ haha) and they shipped it out on the 9th. It is now, as of Christmas Eve, in Washington D.C., so it should be here before New Year’s Eve. Hopefully yours will arrive soon as well!!!
My sister FedEx'ed a package with 12/24 delivery. So far, it has made three stops at FedEx facilities while heading North along the Pacific Coast Highway (US-101), and then in Troutdale, then Corbett OR, Rupert ID, Paxton NE, Iowa City IA, Youngston OH, and currently is in Town of Willington CT. Supposedly it'll get here on Monday.
Word is, USPS and UPS and FedEx are all three completely buried in packages, to the extent where some delivery vehicles have had to head out without all the stuff on their routes, as there just wasn't any room left in the trucks.
@thebadgerpiper Yes, and I revealed myself to him by giving him the tracking#. He's been checking the # also. I checked it last night night, it has finally made it to the last stop before delivery. The point is, it's still not delivered... 😕 Now my fear is they may have damaged it in the "non-shipping" process. That would upset me even more, since there are a few items that could POSSIBLY get broken...
I received my gift this morning! Even though USPS took its time to get it here, it ended up being the perfect time to lift my spirits slightly after receiving some bad news. He went above and beyond on my gift and I couldn’t be happier with the contents. Many thanks brother.
It went from Mississippi to Washington D.C., taking about fifteen days to do so, and it should have went to Baltimore and then to me here in Harford County, MD.
It’s now in Jacksonville, Florida. How in God’s name did they screw that up so badly??
@RondyR I have added your package’s shipping info to my phone number for all updates. If something doesn’t happen eventually, we will figure something out for you. (And to Rondy’s Secret Santa, don’t worry, nothing is blamed on your end, I know who you are, and you’re solid. This is totally the mail service).
I will say don’t lose hope. My wife and I recently got Christmas ornaments that were supposed to arrive before the holiday.
Again, we will take care of you, as that’s what we do here.

@RondyR Augh, that's a bummer. At least it's on the way. On the plus side, think of it adding some age to the tins you're getting.
😳
I hate to see that you have had some bad news. You have had enough of that sort of thing. You and your family remain in my prayers.
Now THAT’S funny.........
Hilarious!

I’m super-excited!
If all has been delivered, then I say thanks to everyone that participated and for another excellent gift exchange!
Thank you brother for taking the time to organize and see this project through... again...
