For those who went before us, for those who went with us, and for those who will follow. Happy Veterans Day and I Salute you and I Thank you. "FOLLOW ME."
On Wednesday of this week I had a chance to see Air-Men of Note, Air Force Jazz Band. What a thrill, these guys are unbelievable musicians, just a fantastic evening.
Tanks for that@motie2 the air men playing the trumpet solo is unbelievable in person, his name is Kevin Burns. Before the show I heard him warming up and even then he was wailing. Chilling for sure.
O God of spacious skies and purple-mountain majesties, these United States of America comprise a wonderful nation, surely the best on earth, a nation aglow with the spirit of liberty, but whose radiance has been darkened in recent years. But we have always prayed for our brothers and sisters in uniform, especially our men and women stationed overseas. We pray for them and for their parents, their husbands, wives, and children. We pray for families whose sons and daughters have already given their lives, or have been maimed in body and spirit. The price they have paid will not be in vain, if our nation achieves its goal: the peace we all pray for.
O God of hosts, renew in our nation the spirit of magnanimity which our power can well afford us to manifest. Help us to keep false pride and needless vindictiveness from the councils of our leaders.
Inspire America's leaders to seek compromise and consensus. Guide the President, his counselors, and advisers, granting them the wisdom and the will to at last find their way from the political quagmire we find ourselves in. (Ending a sentence with a preposition -10pts.) “Then the just shall see and exult, the upright be glad, and the faithful sing for joy. Violence shall rage no more, and evil vanish like smoke; the rule of tyranny shall pass away from the earth...."
We turn to You for answers, for values, for strength. We come before you with respect and concern for those who have been summoned to protect and secure our nation and our world. Give them courage to meet the chilling stare of death. Show compassion to them as they seek to make the world safer for us and for those we love. Ease the pain of their loneliness as they face the darkness of their daunting task. Help those far from the comfort of home to find value and meaning in their mission; that their sacrifice not be an empty act. Let them sense the yearning of those who await their return and long for their presence - their loved ones, their parents, their children.
Sovereign Who desires life, above all protect them with Your merciful care. Return them safely to fulfill dreams unrealized so that they may bless Your name through the lives they live. And may their efforts further the cause of peace throughout the world.
May the God of our ancestors bless all those who serve — and have served — this nation in the military. May it be Your will to grant them sure guidance and to keep them from harm's way. May those who have suffered be restored to health, in mind and body, and returned to those who love them. May honor and courage attend our men and women in uniform. Bless their path, and guard their coming and going, in life and in peace, now and always. Amen
Happy Veterans Day for those who lead the way, for those who went with us and for those who will follow. I Salute and Thank You for your service. 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
No worries, members of the warrior class are very thankful. Most Veterans don’t ask or seek much for their service especially combat veterans, Making it back home was good enough. 🇺🇸
What, you wanted us to tell ourselves "Happy Veteran's Day?"
Personally, I visited the SE Louisiana Veterans Cemetery on Monday. Admittedly, the main reason is because that is where my wife is interred but I also walked around and visited the 9/11 memorial at the cemetery. I am happy to report that there were around 15 other vehicles there with people placing flowers by the headstones of their loved ones.

<<What, you wanted us to tell ourselves "Happy Veteran's Day?">>
Perhaps words of gratitude or appreciation of sacrifices made?
