New blends are popping up like weeds!

Well the time has come for all the new blends to start being marketed by the major players in order to meet the Aug 8th deadline. Check out pipesandcigars.com and you will see many STG owned blends that have popped up...all still on back order, of course. The Cult, CAO, and Old Shenandoah lines all have a few new ones. Some look interesting, some are re-makes of prior blends. By getting in before the deadline, this gives the companies 2 years to sell the product before they need to apply to the FDA.

Let us know below if you find any other blends.

@pipeprofessor @charleneSTGLaneLtd - As I currently understand the new regs, giving out samples will be illegal if a manufacturer or retailer is caught doing it. (And I think the sneaky bastids will be in force at pipe shows just to shut people down). 

However I would gladly become a market analyst for Lane Ltd. to test their new products and would in turn provide a written report on the quality and viability of a tobacco blend in today's pipe smoking market. For that matter, I'm always glad to test new pipe designs also.

@pipeprofessor I was wondering why with all the new regs so many blends were popping up all over the place.  Now it at least makes sense and I'm not so worried about stashing up as quick as possible.

@CharleneSTGLaneLtd - I'm a member of the New Orleans Pipe Club. We meet the 3rd Thursday of each month. Our founding member is Toby Ducote who also started the New Orleans Pipe Show. He's hoping to do the show again in 2017.

@chalenestglaneltd - If you guys every want to create a new blend again, may I suggest a latakia heavy blend cased with a strong dark ale. I was just sitting outside with a bowl of one of my old private blends and drinking Abita Bourbon Barrel Aged Coffee Stout and was it was good. I mean, they use rum, cognac, whiskey, whisky, champagne, all varieties of fruit - why not a good dark beer?

@pipeprofessor - The coffee stout I had today was very intriguing and paired with the latakia/perique blend I was smoking very well. Neither the beer nor the tobacco overpowered the other.

@charlenestglaneltd - LOL. Probably impossible, but on the other hand if the deeming rules gets put on hold due to one of the law suits, who knows what could happen.

@CharleneSTGLaneLTD Unfortunately, Dallas can be upwards of 2 hours away depending on traffic which is horrible around me due to the constant construction.

@crapgame  agreed.  I have a few friends and we get together regularly and smoke cigars but I'm trying to get them to smoke pipes.  Unfortunately, they are desperately trying to make a dent in my cigar collection.

@pipeprofessor. Hmmm... A virtual pipe club. That sounds like an interesting idea. Just trying to figure out how to get more than one other person on video chat. I think it would be fun with some of our other members like @pappyjoe and maybe even the admin @CharleneSTGLaneLtd and others

@drac2485 I agree. I think it would be easier than we think if we plan ahead. I was going to go on with a few pipe makers tonight but I went out to dinner instead. If it wasn't last minute then I would have been able to plan better.

I've been a chatter from the early days of the internet and have spent more hours in rooms than most of you have been in the hobby. The great days of IRC #pipes where many great collectors gathered on long gone. I video hangout once in awhile but I get more from private  email groups I participate in.

Despite the loss of several fine tobacconists (especially local B&M's, there are more blends being manufactured and made available than ever before......
