Eh, I’m not a fan of “fictional history”….otherwise known as bull$#!+. If it’s a fictional story, don’t try to make it “seem real”, or “could have happened”. Like some of the freaking BS shows that air on “The History Channel”….really?……space aliens, cryptids, etc. These types of shows do not belong on “The History Channel”. Freaking Snake Oil Salesmen, and people “buy it”😖.

@RockyMountainBriar a coworker of mine is obsessed with the oak island show. He tells me that templars, or pirates, or Templar pirates or vikings, or very likely Templar pirate vikings hid the lost arc of the covenant there. I have to hold back the eye rolls as he tells me all about it.
@RockyMountainBriar You guys are all missing the point of Oak Island. 1. It is mindless entertainment. 2. The more they stretch it out, the more money they make. Hence the number of times they repeat themselves each episode. If they only said or showed things once, each episode with only be 15 minutes long and they would make 75% less money. 3. They will never "s••• or get off the pot" until the ratings drop to where it is no longer profitable for the owners (Owners: The Walt Disney Company, NBCUniversal, Hearst Corporation, Disney Entertainment, Hearst Communications) Note: Disney is mentioned twice in the list of owners. 4. There has never been any verifiable scientific or historical proof that the Templars ever crossed the ocean. Don't mean they didn't there is just no proof. Also, this is nothing more than either a search for pirate treasure or an elaborate hoax to make money.
And, 5. It is better than any of the other mindless drivel purported to be entertainment on television.
My main problem with the show is that they are not using currently available technology to find the answers. For example, last season's "attempt" to put a working shaft down to where they thought the tunnel would be. I believe there are a number of mining engineers who could have solved the problems. The same with drilling hundreds of test holes seeking to find underground structures. The technology does exists to pinpoint where to drill. Just ask a few oil and gas companies how they detect voids thousands of feet down.
@PappyJoe Nope, not missing the point, the constant repeats and rehashes really piss me off. I know it’s all for the money. I’m just hoping they actually make a truly historic discovery, whatever it may be.
