I have smoked a pipe for 60 years and have to say this is a blend that is full of flavor easy to light and stays lit. No tongue burn or bite at all if packed lightly. Its P&C s Bass Pond. I must have tried hundreds of tobaccos in my career but this one is good. I also enjoy C&D Smooth English mixed 1/2 and 1/2 with Newminster's Cherry 3B. Its mild and the cherry is almost indiscernible.

I'm currently smoking the companion blend from Scotty - "Scotty's Trout Stream" and although I have yet to try "Bass Pond" I'm pretty sure it is every bit as good as "Bass Pond". I've almost been smoking it non-stop since my order came in.

Has anybody tried Treasure Island from The Country Squire? Just wondering how it stacks up to Barbados Plantation or the Sutliff Rum flavored blends.

@motie2 ….. So I decided to just order an ounce of the Treasure Island. So I will definitely let you know what I think.... But in doing so I made the mistake of scrolling through their other blends and clicking on and reading the descriptions of other tobacco names that caught my eye.... So I also ended up ordering Hunting Creek, Northwest Trek, Second Breakfast, and Bag End (Scottish blend)…. Oops. lol

Finally found my post! So Country Squire's Treasure Island isn't as good as Barbados Plantation or Sunset Rum, so I probably won't get it again. Hunting Creek however was amazing and is one of my new favorites. Going to try Northwest Trek and Bag End (traditional Scottish) later on. Hoping they are just as good as Hunting Creek.

Country Squire's SECOND BREAKFAST was mentioned, above.  I really enjoyed that blend, and have generally been happy with Country Squire's offerings.

Now you being a Master and me a lowly apprentice, far be it for me to force any opinion upon you without said invitation, but since you have squared off and issued such a request let it be known henceforth and from this day forward that there is no better smoking aromatic in the land than Sutliff Sunset Rum. While that is the opinion of Ole'Pops and the opinion of Ole'Pops alone, I will carry it to the death and will fight for my right to do so against any who may challenge it with sword and shield, against all Country Squire aromatics...or any other, post'forth and decreed this day, good sir.

Dare I ask if you have tried Sutliff Barbados Plantation?

De gustibus and all that, but I really think a discriminating gentleman such as yourself would discern a marked difference in favor of BP.

@motie2 - I have! I have also tried Molto Dolce and parried with all of the claims that it is the best aromatic in existence. To this I say, "Baaah!" But, then again, look at who you're dealing with. I drink Bulliet Rye cause I'd rather and I don't trim the fat off my steak. Some folks would say an old country boy like me couldn't pour water out of a boot if the instructions were written on the heel. To them, I also say "Baaah!" I like'a de Sun'a set Rum!

@Michael308 - You better know it! Have you tried Sutliff Great Outdoors? It's slightly reminiscent of Mixture No.79, only MUCH, MUCH better! It is in the same Limited Edition Series as Molto Dolce. If you like the Aperitif flavor of Anisette, it is the one to try.

Let me throw my 2 cents worth into the kettle regarding The Country Squire offerings. My brother and I have tried quite a few of theirs and have been overall pleased with the outcome. Their casings seem to burn off a little quick, but not like Boswell's and they are fine quality tobaccos underlying. However in Ole'Pops humble opinion I have not tried one I would not try again. The one that stands alone as the absolute best in MY OPINION is their "P.S. Blend"; a Black Cavendish, Latakia, and Virginia mixture with no casing. It is just light enough on the Latakia to give way to the Virginia, which is simply sublime.
