Ghost, I too hope things get better for you and your wife.I too say prayers every day, in fact I watch and remotely participate in the Mass on EWTN. That is where I intend my prayers for others and myself. I too have medical issues. I have been on chemo for cancer for about 4 years now, and I have what is becoming difficult to control diabetes. This getting old crap (will be 75 this August) is not for the faint of heart. PLEASE know that others are praying for both you and your wife. Please take some comfort in that.
@pwkarch; I'll be adding you to my prayer list. I have diabetes and it is hard to control, but doable. I have been able to do a better job with the help of the FreeStyle Libre 2. Medicare paid for it and it really beats finger sticks. Keep moving forward. Brother.
Thanks for all the concerns and well wishes. Keep them prayers coming my way. On May 31st my wife suffered a stroke and I've been in the hospital 24/7 with her up until yesterday when she was released from the stroke and rehab center. My life has really been in a turmoil since them. But the most amazing thing happened when she suffered a stroke. Most of her dementia woes like paranoia and hallucination have subsided. After removing the clot from her brain she slowly came back to a slightly altered version of her normal self. She can carry on a conversation without going into a paranoid rant about the neighbors coming to harm her over money issues. She's far from her normal self ... more like a petulant 16 year old. But she put on weight and always hungry. A far cry from when she refused both water and food and melted down to 86 pounds. Her stay in the hospital helped her to gain almost 20 pounds. The only problem now is that she's lost a lot of her function of the left side. So I'm constantly lifting her ... and she is dead weight. And as loose as a wet noodle.
I'll try to get back on a more regular basis but as for now she's taking up all my time. I'm the cook, the waiter, the dishwasher, the maid, and the care giver. All this at 73. Today is my birthday and I've never felt so old in my life.
Happy birthday!!!!!!! 🥳🧁 Improvement is a good thing. Hang in there man. I know it's very difficult. God is with you and will send you help! We are all also with you. Know that you're not alone.
@ghostsofpompeii; Happy Birthday, Brother. I know it is easy for me to say, but maybe our prayers have been answered at least in a small way. Hopefully, as we continue to pray, she will continue to improve.
Hang in there Ghost......I can't imagine what you are going through. We will be married 47 years this October, and she is the most important thing in my life. That is with a Son and Daughter, their spouses. and 6 Grandchildren. BUT my wife is at least half of my heart. I thank God every day for all I have, but my wife is at the top. I am praying for your wife and for you.
I am right there with you Buddy, immunological (sp?) chemo over 4 years now most recent yesterday. Every two weeks, today is, and tomorrow will also be down days for sure. Oh well I am not giving up. I have you in my prayers........(and your wife).

You forgot pipe smoking. You should have said, "work, fishing and pipe smoking".
I would have changed the order though to "pipe smoking, fishing and work".
Praying for you both, brother.
Still praying and wishing I could do more.
How are things going man? Been thinking about you and your wife.
I too have been thinking of you and your Mrs. I hope you are getting some help. Please keep believing. Praying for you both.

You and your wife are still in my prayers, Brother.
He hasn't been on for over a week, any ideas, I sent him a message and haven't gotten a reply.
Hopefully he is OK.
