I was once a comment from someone that said, "If I'm not eating, sleeping or at work, I'm smoking a pipe."  That sums it up for me.

I'm a daily smoker as well ... and depending upon the time of year I might smoke two or three bowls in the warmer months. When I worked the pipe was my constant companion and in my mouth a good four hours of every eight hour shift - but now that I'm retired and don't smoke in the house when my wife is nearby, I catch a bowl when I can. Usually at night.

Two, maybe three bowls a day --- when the temperature is more accommodating to being outside, as SWMBO won't countenance my smoking indoors.
