Everyone has a Talent... What's Yours?

I thought it would be fun to learn more about each other by sharing the fruits of our talents or other hobbies we are good at. Come on, we all have something we can share. Maybe your a woodworker, maybe you restore cars, pipes or old furniture. Perhaps you make cool crafts or kids toys or scale models. Maybe you are like me, you can draw, paint, play music or anything like that. This is going to be fun!

I guess mine would be more on the interest part of it. I have a special folder on my computer called Then&Now.What I do is research historical events domestic or foreign depending on my interest .Example the Oaklahoma City terrorist attack,one picture of what the Murrah looked before attack,one picture after, and the memorial that stands now.Woodstock what it looked like in 1969 and how it looks now. Over seas the Marines landing at Danang in 1965 and the same beach now.Hiroshima in 1945 and same spot today. These are just a few examples.Plus their are many professional photographers that superimpose part of a black and white picture of a historic event over another color picture of the same place today.My range of interests span from W.W.1 thru W.W.2 and all points in between.Also search the National Archives, and downloaded the Pentagon Papers.That is it for me.Hope you find it interesting

I write a blog, and I have an e-book up on Amazon. Besides that, I'm decent with a yo-yo. Nothing spectacular, but it was enough to entertain my friends in my dorm.

I have a talent for writing and photography. Good enough at both to have turned them into my profession for 30 years though I seldom do photography these days. I do occasionally blog and have posted links to them on here occasionally.

I have an ability to talk my way out of a problem with minimal damage. A tactic I used often at work which I like to call "baffle them with bulsh*t". Other than that I'm living on my past laurels as both a writer and musician. My talent at both has greatly diminished with age. And that's no bullsh*t.

Thanks for the inspiration. I have been planning on writing a few books. Just need to find time to sit down and write. I enjoy talking and being with people. Hoping to leave my mark and inspire others by putting some of my thoughts on paper.

@Londy3 I'm part of a writing team that has a series of novellas involving characters in an alternate world that use magic by giving the ability inside of them to others. It's a pretty interesting system, and I enjoyed working on my part of the story. We each take turns and write a novella to continue the story. @Hiker007 Writing a novel can seem daunting, but you can do it. All it takes is putting words to paper and never giving up.

Although I don't seem to have time anymore as I am always working (or smoking), I once got totally involved in creating display quality duck decoys. I would be at work at about 0600-0630 and stay until 1600-1630, go home, eat, then go down to my basement shop until at least 2200 or even later working on my decoys. I got totally involved travelling to meet Bill Veasy who was my inspiration as he was the preeminent painting master of decoys. I made many decoys, some of which I sold but ended up keeping just as many or more. I have been inactive with decoys for over 10 or so years now. and I am sad to say I have many dollars of acrylic paint dried up in their little bottles downstairs, literally a fortune in good artist brushes sit idly on a workbench, and my Foredom Moto Tool and bits sit in a box. I keep saying "one day" but who am I kidding.
