@jim102864 Ask and ye shall receive. There is a secret algorithm that TPL has used since the beginning to assign ranks and badges. One of the inadvertent bugs of the upgrade is that many badges were deleted along with the points awarded for each badge. Hence, everyone's ranking dropped because their points dropped.
Then, a couple of people were magically advanced to higher ranks without explanation.
The new algorithm doesn't work the same as the old. It doesn't give the same weight to the number of discussion you start for example. There is a secret. I think I discovered it. I would tell you but then we would both be eliminated from this forum.
