Our own @ghostsofpompeii is always coming up with a new combination of tobacco blends. He's even into "stacking" (packing layers of different blends/flavors in one bowl). In my humble opinion, this is his finest creation:
Mrs. Hudson's 221B Bakery Street Blend
(Sherlock Holmes probably smoked a strong English blend. Naming a sweet aromatic after him would be inappropriate and ungentlemanly. The name Mrs. Hudson’s is a reference to Sherlock Holmes' landlady.)
Mrs. Hudson’s is made from Sutliff bulk tobaccos, sold by the ounce, and blended together as follows:
Three parts (or 3 oz.) Sutliff Vanilla Custard
Two parts (or 2 oz.) Sutliff Chocolate Mousse
One part (or 1 oz.) Sutliff Crème Brulee
Some folks prefer to substitute one part (or 1 oz.) Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce (tin) for the very similar Creme Brûlée.
(Historical note: The original recipe called for “….a pinch or two of Sutliff Irish Creme.” Ghostsofpompeii says it could be omitted without harming the blend.)
Mrs. Hudson's 221B Bakery Street Blend — easy to light and keep lit, great taste, smell, and room note; no bite, no goop, and no negative ghosting.

Sutliff makes me think of you and me:
We've been around a long time and find ourselves facing a slow decline leading to the inevitable.
I guess we need to take on the same conclusion as Bilbo when considering the ending of his book:
"And he lived happily ever after, to the end of his days."
Hopefully Sutliff goes before we do...☺️
I hope Sutliff goes before too. I could care less about Sutliff, I will miss some Mac Baren blends however “there goes more pipe tobacco companies”. I would miss you and @motie2, along with many others here, much more than any of those old tobaccos 🙂
I think one of my nephews may have picked up the hobby, he lives in Spokane. He mentioned that he had a porch and a rocking chair and needed a pipe🙂. I gave him a couple of briar pipes and a bag of C&D “Espresso” when he and his girlfriend stopped by for a quick visit at Christmas. I know that particular tobacco smokes easily and is pretty tasty, not coffee, but tasty🙂. He texted me a day or so after he got home about enjoying the pipe and tobacco. He said he would scout out a couple of the brick and mortars in his area that I found online.👍🏻
While mourning the loss, I am grateful for all that remains according to industry sources…..
Bummer
Not that I’m a fan of Sutliff tobaccos in general, but it sucks for those of you that do like them.
I guess you will have to try to work up a clone with other available tobaccos….if possible.
