No, but maybe it's time to repost th recipe for Mrs. Hudson's, the best aromatic ever.....
Our own @ghostsofpompeii is always coming up with a new combination of tobacco blends. He's even into "stacking" (packing layers of different blends/flavors in one bowl). In my humble opinion, this is his finest creation:
Mrs. Hudson's 221B Bakery Street Blend
(Sherlock Holmes probably smoked a strong English blend. Naming a sweet aromatic after him would be inappropriate and ungentlemanly. The name Mrs. Hudson’s is a reference to Sherlock Holmes' landlady.)
Mrs. Hudson’s is made from Sutliff bulk tobaccos, sold by the ounce, and blended together as follows:
Three parts (or 3 oz.) Sutliff Vanilla Custard
Two parts (or 2 oz.) Sutliff Chocolate Mousse
One part (or 1 oz.) Sutliff Crème Brulee
Some folks prefer to substitute one part (or 1 oz.) Sutliff Private Stock Molto Dolce (tin) for the very similar Creme Brûlée.
(Historical note: The original recipe called for “….a pinch or two of Sutliff Irish Creme.” Ghostsofpompeii says it could be omitted without harming the blend.)
Mrs. Hudson's 221B Bakery Street Blend — easy to light and keep lit, great taste, smell, and room note; no bite, no goop, and no negative ghosting.
@FatherBriar Whenever my wife walks into the garage while I'm smoking this blend she says she feels like she stepped into a bakery. Gave my son a sample as well and he said he gets the exact same response from those around him.
Thanks for the video, have you tried this particular blend? One thing I did notice was he seemed to have a hard time keeping his pipe lit. Wonder if it's the Tobbaco or his pipe was jammed up.
@motie2 Thanks to @thebadgerpiper I was able to pick up 4 oz. of Sutliff Black Spice, 4 oz. of Sutliff Sunset Rum, and one tin of Barbados Plantation for $1.63 at P&C. Have to also pay shipping which is $6.99 but for a total of $8.62 I've got 10 oz. of great tasting tobacco.
@ghostsofpompeii -- I know you'll enjoy the SR and BP as much as I do. Please give us a review of the Black Spice; I had never noticed it before finding the video I posted and it sounds.... different.
So far it looks to me that the blends I would like to try are as follows,MaduroCavendish,Sutliff ZBC,Mark Twain,Tropic Cavendish,SPS4 Mango,Orchestrated Nines.
Received order today,Sutliff Black Spice was very impressive, great aroma, nice room note, smooth and no tongue bite.As far as taste goes I first noticed sort of a creamy vanilla taste, Only had one bowl so far ma bye more later. Will definitely buy again. The Mark Twain blend is not bad either, can't really determine what Vibe I'm getting so far.First impression it would be good to mix with a stronger aromatic. Experimenting seems to be in the future. If anyone has any ideas PLK.
Just tried some Match-Hines Mixture and was very good, some Vanilla and bit of Coconut taste, not sure would buy again only because Sutliff has so many others to choose from. But would definitely keep as a go to at some point.
