Fascinating how this discussion came back to life. Most recent post had been April 2018. A new post on April 19, this year, brought out all the cherry fans......
As a certified barbarian, I smoke Balkans, Aros and VaPers in the same pipes, with no harm, no foul. The Balkans don't seem to ghost the same way English Lat blends do. Don't have any idea why....
My first tobacco purchase was a couple of Sutliff bulks and a pouch of CB Cherry. I smoked the cherry about five minutes before I dumped it and stuck the pouch in my car to use as air freshener.
Boswell Bear Blend - This is a nice cherry tobacco, I enjoy it from time to time.
Boswell's description - A very bold smoke. Cherry Caramel tasting tobacco, that our good friends John and Bill blended here at our store along with Dan. Together they captured the complexity and full-bodied flavor of the blended premium tobaccos. The result will dazzle your senses.
Fathers Day is almost here. My dad only smoked Cherry blends and seemed to gravitate to Paladin Black Cherry. A wretched blend IMHO, but I will still fire up a bowl on Sunday and think about my dad.
I miss Peter Stokkebye Cherry Bonbon. And I have tried many cherry blends, but as Bono sang...I still haven't found what I'm looking for
I'm not a big aro smoker even though I do have a couple of blends on hand. That said, probably the only cherry blend I can tolerate is Missouri Meerschaums Great Dane.
@motie2 I've tried several of the "cherry" blends in that list designed to sell tobacco and I found them to mostly have that medicinal cherry cough syrup note that everyone hates. There are a few up there I may try in the future though.
That being said, one of the tins I found wrapped under the Christmas tree is Rattray's Winter Edition 2021 (good luck finding that in the U.S.) which is a maraschino cherry liqueur flavored tobacco. Surprisingly, I found it to be without that medicinal/chemical aftertaste often associated with cherry blends.
@mapletop I think it was Middleton's Cherry I smoked back int he 1970s that put me off of cherry blends.

The "ring" of Middleton's Cherry Blend (the Original, I suspect) is the sound of a buzzsaw.

As far as Cult Blood Red Moon...I don’t smoke it, it goes in a sewer pipe😬.
More power to ya brother!
Otherwise, I smoke whatever in whatever....except no latakia blends in anything, and SG “Black XX” in a very, very small pipe🙂
I’m not a “purist”, smokes of ghosts past are kind of like stacking different tobaccos😉

Of course, it was cancelled.
