How many Pipe smokers in here also smoke Cigars? I can't remember what I started with first, I think I smoked both within a month or less apart and love them both.
I smoke cigars occasionally. I like Flor de Oliva, RP missile, Cuesta Rey sungrown, Fonseca cosacos, Davidoff Special C's, and I've been seen smoking some Cohiba's but they aren't my go to brand. I started smoking cigars around the time I started pipe, but I have definitely smoke more cigars over the years. What about you @Wolf 410 35 what do you like smoke?
I am actually primarily a cigar smoker. I am into it enough that i am a guest on a cigar podcast. My favorites are Tatuaje, 262, Nomad, 1502, Joya de Nicaragua, and Leccia Tobacco for the NC sticks. As for CC i like Bolivar BF, and Hoyo de Monterrey Epicure Especial.
I lean mostly towards maduros but have a wide variety of different cigars in my igloo humidor - probably down to about 75 - 80. I have probably close to a box of Sancho Panza's robustos and 5 or 6 Gurka Seductions. The rest are a variety of singles.
I started with cigars and until recently barely touched my pipe and grabbed cigars. Now I find the pipe more enjoyable because it forces me to slow down. As far as cigars I like almost anything. I really don't care for, or have to be in a special mood for Acids. I have several humidors and a few coolidors as I have a tendency to buy by the box and then age them. I just had my first cigar hit 10 years old earlier this year and all I can say is WOW!!!
I started with a pipe, then added cigars later. I did go through a period of about 10 years when I rarely touched the pipe. Now, I smoke, an average of 2 cigars a month. When I do smoke cigars, I an drawn to a 42-45 ring, and a box-press. My favorite is probably the El Rey del Mundo Rectangulare; I also like the Sancho Panza Caballero and the Montecristo Number 4.
I'm a daily cigar smoker, like with pipe tobacco I enjoy mild to medium blends. My baseline cigars are Dominican/Connecticut Shade Churchill's. I avoid the spicy pepper bombs. I enjoy collecting cigar related tobacciana including cutters, lighters, humidors and books. I like to go to cigar events like in store and big smoke type events and since I smoke a limited range a have amassed a large collection of one off's and over priced Habano's that I've picked up in Canada over the years.
OK like what I have read, I like robusto the most, I tend to like medium to strong but depending on time of day or how I feel I can enjoy a mild to medium Cigar, I like all kinds of brands and types of Cigars, a few off the top of my head are Alec Bradley, CAO, My Fathers, Perdomo, Rocky Patel, Don Carlos F. (Opus X), Java (Mornings), Partagas and Macanudo to name a few. I have had some rare ones, I have had a couple REAL Cuban Cigars and currently I am waiting on Some Rum infused Cigars, they were stored in an Oak Barrel with Rum for a few years and then pulled, cured, banded and wrapped, now I have to five packs heading my way. As for resting Cigars (Storing for long periods of time as well) I have had some that I put away for 15 years and yes WOW to them if you can store them that long! Currently I can store up to 2500+ cigars in my Humidors at home and a couple hundred at the Cigar Lounge I belong to.
I always enjoy a good cigar. I don't smoke them nearly as often as my pipe but I'm always happy when I do. The two I smoke most are Rocky Patel box pressed vintage 1990, and Alec Bradley Black Market.
Fuente are great cigars! I have been looking for some Opus X and Opus X Angel Share... I usually go to AB Seconds for my everyday smoke that I can set down or throw away if I get to busy to smoke it all the way....Rarely happens, I can't work anymore so I sit around and Smoke Cigars, Pipes, Drink a little and watch people drive by.
I added cigars to my pipe smoking about 3 yrs ago. I smoke 3-4 a week. Faves currently are LFD Double Ligero, EP Carillo Maduro, Don Pepin Garcia Cuban Classic, and La Aroma de Cobe Series N, only the 60 gauge size though. Also tried a GPC 1502 Black Gold that I thought was great.
