I second the match version from P&C. I have it in my cellar and for my taste I prefer it to actually EMP.
Not to get off topic, but if anyone is a My Mixture 965 fan, try Father Dempsey’s Blend from now the late Kramer’s tobacco shop. You can get it at SPC since C&D does the blending and tinning. This is another one I prefer over the Dunhill name.
@Jayhawk422I'll second your recommendation for Father Dempsey. I had been fortunate enough to visit Kramer's in Beverly Hills a few times in the past, and was sad to hear of it's closing at the end of last year. I have a few pounds of Father Dempsey hand blended by Marsha in my cellar right now, along with about a pound each of their blends for Danny Kaye and Cary Grant. To my taste I would also prefer FD over 965. I was happy to hear that they are tinning it.
If you're looking for an EMP substitute - and not a perfect match - I've found C&D's Byzantium to be a good morning smoke. It was recommended on Country Squire Radio, and I think those boys were right. It's a mild English blend, but not so mild that you don't get some nice complexity from the latakia and oriental tobaccos.
I've never tried EMP, so I have no experience to offer. But I stumbled across Greg Pease's description of his Chelsea Morning while looking for something else. Look at the bottom of this page:
