Lingering room note

I turn 50 this year, and have been pondering lots of ways to celebrate this milestone. One I've been considering is smoking an occasional pipe in my office at work. This got me to wondering, what blends tend to leave a nice lingering room note, one that most people would enjoy encountering in an office, rather than making the place smell horrendous? I may not do it, but I remain curious nonetheless.

in my experience with car smoking, any of my english blends tend to linger a bit too long, and the after-scent is always a tad too bold

Great suggestions! In fact, I already smoke a number of them - Molto Dolce, Hero's Blend (Vanilla, light), White Rose...A light aromatic it is!

MacBaren's Vanilla Flake is a good choice from my own experience. Boswell's has some great aromatics, like Piper's Pleasure and Christmas Cookie. I've heard compliments for Just For Him's Shortcut to Mushrooms and Peterson's Nutty Cut.

@mseddon I envy you, being able to smoke in your office. When US Steel enacted their aggressive non-smoking policy I could no longer smoke in the office. And the Maintenance Crew could no longer smoke in the shanty. We usually had to go out in the hall someplace. For anyone who works or is familiar with the steelmaking process - the very atmosphere we work is a smoke filled environment. The very air in the shop I worked in (#1BOP) could actually see the glittering graphite in the air. The air we breathed was far worse than any second hand smoke my the permeated from my pipe. And the pipe smelled a whole lot better than the breathable air in the shop. So having a workplace that will allow you the freedom to smoke your pipe in your office is very rare in todays PC world.
