Anyone have any recommendations for a GD to make our club a logo? I've looked around but figured maybe there is someone in the forum that could use some work.
@pipeprofessor - my credentials: 21 years in the Coast Guard as a photojournlist/public affairs specialist. 10 years as the managing editor of a hunting and fishing magazine (Yes. I was paid to go fishing and write lies about how good it the fishing was.). The last 3 years I was also the director of the art department and pre-press production for a printing company. I started my own LLC 10 years ago. I do freelance writing and photography but make most of my money doing print advertising.
That's too bad @PappyJoe, I have a friend who was a photo journalist for the Army in Iraq/Afghanistan and some of his pictures are utterly amazing. I've wanted to see action shot of the Coast Guard. I've also always wanted to light up the bow of a ship with a .50 while on the move...
@mhajec - One of those videos is about a case off the Columbia River where a fishing boat rolled over and was lost. The Coast Guard lost a good man that day, one that I had served with back in the 1973-74. About two years ago a new Coast Guard Cutter was commissioned and named after him.
Semper Paratus A friend of my son's went in, good guy who I believe is still in. when I was younger Greenwood Lake between NY and NJ was considered Interstate Water and they had a White DUKW that they'd anchor in the middle and do inspections. I met some of them in local bars and they were a good bunch. I was in the MP's in Aberdeen Proving Ground, MD on Chesapeake Bay and when I did Marine Division we'd often run into them and invite them to our parties.
I was stationed across the river from Philadelphia for about 2 years. The Coast Guard has a small base/Captain of the Port office there and we were responsible for the Delaware River. They closed that base a 10 or 20 years ago and consolidated it with a couple of units in Philadelphia. I also did 3.5 years on Governors Island in New York harbor. It was a different Coast Guard back then. I retired in 1993.

Has anyone come up with a patch design?
