What is your favorite activity while smoking your pipe?

I enjoy birdwatching while smoking my Cobbits and Falcons. I try to sit in either my swing or Adirondack chair at least twice a day as weather permits. Each of my seating places has its own set of bird feeders. One is near the edge of the woods and the other overlooks a few acres of open ground with scattered trees. Each area attracts it's own unique birds.

I like listening to old time radio shows from the 40s & 50s in the afternoons when I'm smoking a pipe. I imagine that's what a lot of pipe smokers did during that era before every house had a tv.

On Sunday morning I like listening to bluegrass gospel

I enjoy reading or listening to a book on tape. Recently I've been reading school work stuff so no so enjoyable but at least I have my pipe.

Fishing, hunting, camping/bushcraft. Unfortunately I cant do those things as much as I like, so many weekends I'm like pappy and listen to old time radio shows while I piddle around in the shop.

@judandhispipe - I am tempted to smoke my pipe around my computer at times. Then I remember back when I used to have to take computers apart and work on them. The ones used in non-smoking offices were so much cleaner and had fewer problems. The ones in the smoking offices had to be replaced almost every two years.

I enjoy reading a book while smoking a pipe, it tends to slow down my cadence, usually I smoke in the evening outside on a nice summer night, listening to the sounds of nature , with a nice cool glass of iced tea.

@abreathawayfromglory - I was just kidding. I give Beau, the co-host of Country Squire Radio a hard time about it too.

Personally, I like books. Real, physical, hold them in your hand and turn the pages books. On top of that, when I find a new series I want to read, I have to read them in order. And I seldom get rid of books. I have probably two plastic containers in storage and 75-100 here in the house.

I would rather read an old book for the 15th time than watch a re-run on tv.

I have my pipe on the weekends in the evening when the kids are in bed (I have 4 kids all under the age of 9). I sit in the back patio usually listening to music watching the sun go down and the stars come up. I mainly try to just clear my head and not think about anything. I try my best to focus on the blend that I’m smoking, nature, and Gods creations. In the end I feel clear and refreshed. It gives me something to look forward to it every week.

@jabraham326 How clear my head feels after smoking my pipe is why I have always come back to smoking my pipe versus cigars or cigarettes. I feel that it's something that you can't rush and it forces me to slow down in this fast paced world.
