Beach Vacation Trip

Next week I will being taking a much needed vacation. The family and I will be heading to the beach. I am planning on relaxing, reading, smoking a few cigars, and get in some pipe time. Does anyone have any good beach recommendations? Cigars, tobacco blends, cob or briar? I already have my books picked out.

With all the restriction on smoking the first thing I'd do is make sure it's not a 'No Smoking' zone.

@ghostsofpompeii Please do not rain on my vacation.  I have visions of sitting by the beach enjoying a cigar or pipe and watching the sunset.

Just to be on the safe side I'd bring along a bubble pipe.

Some New Jersey beach towns are no smoking. Cape Cod hasn't yet.

For a good pipe tobacco that is good around non-smokers, try MacBaren Vanilla Cream Flake. I've taken that blend with me while on vacation, and I've heard people say they like the aroma.

If you're taking pipes to the beach, I'd suggest cobs. Enjoy your trip!

Wind caps. Beaches are usually windy so a wind cap will help.

@judandhispipe I just ordered a grab bag of corn cobs from MMC.  I will take a few of them for sure.  They are 2nds, so I will not be upset if something happens to them on the trip.

Vacation is going great so far. Enjoyed two bowls already, both from a small corn cob pipe. Smoked Lane 1Q in the first bowl and Out of Office Vanilla in the second. Also, enjoyed a cigar down by the beach. More smoke to come.

Found it is easier to smoke cigars on the beach than the pipe. Enjoyed an evening smoke today while watching the sunset.

So far today, I enjoyed another cigar (Casino Gold) and a bowl from my corn cob (Out of Office Cherry). Great day. However, I did burn a hole in one of my favorite shirts while smoking the pipe.

My beach trip has come to an end. I ended up smoking more cigars than the pipe. Had a great time. I do have a few more days off. I will be around the house attempting to get caught up on my to do list. Planning to have a few more relaxing bowls before jumping back into work on Wednesday.

All good thngs must come to an end.  Glad it was an enjoyable break. My doesn't happen until mid-September.
